I am a mother of three children whom were all breast feed. Generally, I have been anywhere from a 34-36 A or B depending on life circumstances. I had always fantasized about having breast augmentation and was never very comfortable with my breasts other than their function to feed my kiddos. After breast feeding 3 children, my breast became less appealing...to even my bra. There was absolutely no density and the best way to describe them was like they were flaps of skin that laid in the area where breasts should be. I looked at various plastic surgeons in the area and ultimately decided to go with Dr. David Owen Smith in Edina. I am VERY unhappy with my decision and his job. He undercuts the exceptional...even good surgeons out there because he charges half of what they charge. I hate to admit it, but that caught my eye. I am very unhappy with his service, bedside manner and after care. Immediately after surgery I noticed there was some asymmetry with my breast. My left breast was higher in my chest than my left. Yet, the nipple of my left breast was about .5-1 inch lower than my right. Dr. David O Smith assured me that "they are not twins, rather consider them sisters" and they will release and settle at different times. Well I waited and waited and nothing ever changed. My left breast continues to lay higher than the right breast while my left nipple is much lower than my right. I called Dr. David O Smiths office multiple times to discuss this. I was always given some excuse that usually consisted of them telling me to just "ride it out" and that it would settle. Eventually I came in and Dr. David O Smith finally admitted to it being a capsular contracture. He continued to down play it and state that breasts are not completely symmetrical. During previous interactions I had asked about things I could do to help prevent or make worse a capsular contracture. I had heard anecdotes and read information on line. Specifically, "compression banding" was something I read about and brought up to Dr. Davis O smith. He continued to dismiss my concerns and told me that the implant was positioned under the muscle and that provided enough massage to help it move into place. Well, I saw my family practice MD at my physical and he observed the capsular contracture right away. He was able to help me come to terms with this and point me in the right direction for treatment.

See Above. Poor bedside manner, office outdated, does not appear to respect his staff, makes excuses and does not listen.
