I've been wanting a BA most of my adult life. I was never blessed with boobs, and after nursing 2 kids, and losing weight, I have less than before (if that's even possible).
Well I am doing it now! I'm excited and more than ready!
I had a consult about 3 weeks ago with a Dr who made me feel rushed, and like he was just trying to close a sale. I went to another consult this past week with a Dr who made me feel so comfortable, and never rushed. The whole staff was courteous and professional and I felt so comfortable the whole time. From consultation with the Dr, to trying on sizers, to the financial information it was a wonderful experience. Needless to say, I wanted to book my procedure right away!
I am scheduled for August 19th and can't wait!
Now the only concern I have is size. I tried on sizers, and was pretty certain I would go with 450cc's, but I have read a lot of other reviews and my only concern is going too small. I want them to be proportionate to my body, and being that I've become much more physically active this past year, I really don't want anything overly large. I'm really debating if I should increase to 500-550cc's just to have that little bit extra so I don't end up with the "boobie greed".
I am having my pre-op next week and have been picking up a few supplies for the recovery. Will be sure to update soon.

Go for it. Compromise with 500 if your range is 450-550, and then you'll be glad you didn't go too big or too small. Best of luck -- how exciting!!

Also, for supplies, buy a wedge pillow!!

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll make another appt at some point before surgery to try a few more sizes, just to get a better idea if I'm where I want to be.

Good idea. I had 225 overs for my first BA and then after complications went with350 unders for my second. I thought 350 would've been too big the first time but I'm glad I had the chance to go with it now -- it's not too big at all and for 125ccs more, it's not much bigger than 225, just wider. At first whatever size you pick will look small immediately after surgery, and then there's swelling for a few weeks, so you think you are bigger than you are, and then they drop and get smaller, in a way. So size is hard to pick and also changes the first month or so, and so do your emotions along with those changes. So, my point is, pick in the middle of your range because 50ccs up or down is a very tiny difference.

Good luck! We r very close in height/weight so I will be watching for post-op pics and updates. I am older tho @ 48. I am going on 3 consults over the next 2 weeks and am thinking 350 silicone moderate plus under muscle. We'll see if I am in the ballpark. I posted pics and all 13 docs who answered said I won't need a lift too, which is good news. Keep posting! Best wishes with your surgery!!

I'm sorry to hear your surgery was postponed. But understandably so when you need to take care of the injured kiddos! Hoping for quick healing for them. It sounds like everything else is falling in place for you though. Glad you found a surgeon you liked and a size you are happy with! Good luck and keep me posted on how everything goes!

Because you are starting out with such a small size just know that your frame is also consideration. I am 5'8' 170 and I did 700cc. But I have a thicker frame. You look very thinner body style so just keep that in mind. But I agree with other ladies and even my nurse consultant said go up if you are indecisive. Because you will lose some w under muscle. So I would go 500-550 for your body type. I love my plump boobies. At first I was thinking 550-600 then I was like no go bigger. So I was thing 650. But I decided 700!! And I love them. Just do massages and wear strap and they will get softer faster.

Thanks! I am really thinking I will be happier going up to 550. Can't wait to retry sizers and see!

Go 550!!! 450s with your shirt on they look small C and you said you want c/d. Go 550 to get that big c or d you want!!!

Glad you found a doctor you feel comfortable with. Looks like you're prepping for your recovery. Just in case, here is a helpful list of recovery supplies.  Here is a forum of other women getting BAs this August, 2014. Keep us posted!

Hey darling you go in in the day if my bday! Good luck with everything . I just did 450cc high profile and based off your stats I would go with the 500/550 cc high profile . I'm 140 5'5 with no kids and I was a 33A pre op

The 19th is my B-day too! I had actually had some scheduled vacation time at work before I scheduled my procedure, and when the opportunity to have my BA then arose, I was like, what the heck! Birthday Boobies! You look great and it sounds like your healing is going pretty well! I'm definitely looking forward to making that final decision in size on tues! I figure I'll put the trust into my surgeon and it will all be great!

Omg Leo power!!! Lol so ironic.yes that sounds good and yes I'm coming along okay but right now my stomach will have stretch marks if it stretches any more from being bloated / constipated. I took something for it I'm just waiting for it to come down. I still have some soreness though in my upper boob .
August 17, 2014
I hope everything is coming along well for you. It seems that post surgery bloat/constipation can be awful. So not looking forward to that! Gotta love the Leos! Especially when we are celebrating with the new girls! :)

Yes I'm coming along okay besides those factors lol yes tell me about it . Day by day they change up in the beginning stages. Patience and tolerance is needed. I think I moved my arms too much so in paying a price now for it so I'm icing then right now. A lot of times we start feeling fine and we start doing to much and pay the price later. I'm gonna simply take my time with everything I do .

I just noticed you are from MN as well. Who is your PS? I'm scheduled with Dr. Philbin - Edina Plastic Surgery.
August 19, 2014
I went with Dr Tholen at Mnpls Plastic Surgery. LOVE him! I had a friend who went to Dr Philbin though, and she had nothing but good things to say about him too!
August 19, 2014
Oh that is a relief, thanks! I've been on 3 consults - Dr. Tholen was actually on my list (he did my sister's BA many years ago), but I really liked Dr. Philbin, so decided to leave it at that.
August 19, 2014
That's the most important part is finding someone you are comfortable with! The first consult I went to was horrible and that guy actually made me really uncomfortable. I think that a surgeon you are comfortable with solves 95% of the worries!
