Tray 2

It's been one week and today I had to switch to tray 2. The last three days of tray 1 were pretty good. No excessive pain or swelling.
I waited until night time to switch to tray 2 as others on here have advised and took some Tylenol beforehand. At first there was a lot of pressure and some slight pain but now all I feel is the pressure. The back of the tray on the top left side doesn't seem to fit properly, so I'll be contacting my doctor tomorrow so she can take a look. I also realized today that the very last space on that side of all of the aligners she gave me so far doesn't cover the whole tooth. It's almost as if it's been cut short as you can see in the photo attached. I'm really hoping that this is they way it's supposed to be, because for the price I paid this is a bit ridiculous. I will post an update tomorrow when I hear back from the doctor.

A few extra things + pictures

A few things that I left out:
- I have an overbite and some slight crowding on the bottom.
- I had braces when I was 10 for about 3 years. My retainer stopped fitting properly and when I went to my orthodontist he told me that I didn't need to use it anymore (Not sure why he said that but it was 13 years ago). My overbite came back but my teeth aren't as bad as they were before.
- I had my wisdom teeth surgically moved before they came out when I was around 15 because my jaw was too narrow to accommodate them.
- I have 58 trays all together. So far I have to change them once a week for the next 6 weeks. Anyone else moving this fast?
- I'll be be getting the Propel treatment at my 6 week follow up appointment. I'm a little worried about how much that's going to hurt so any insight would be great!

I'm on tray 1 right now. I've had the aligner in...

I'm on tray 1 right now. I've had the aligner in for four days now and the pain has subsided a lot. The first few days were HORRIBLE.
On the day I got them (Tuesday) I also had IPR done on my bottom incisors. That hurt like hell, even with the numbing gel. My gums bled pretty bad afterwards but it was very quick. I have six attachments at the bottom and four on top as well as two buttons on the bottom to attach rubber bands to.
When I first put the trays in the pain was at about at 2. Barely there. I even put the rubber bands on at the same time. About 40 minutes later it was up to 7 and I sat in class salivating profusely and in a lot of pain. I took some Tylenol but it didn't really help. I took the trays off to have some Panera Bread Mac and Cheese and that went okay. It was a bit painful to chew.
The next day, I woke up with the entire right side of my face swollen, to the point that my eye wasn't open all the way. I called my doctor and she had me come in. I decided to take some Motrin so that the swelling would go down and it helped a lot. By the time I got to the doctor 5 hours later the swelling was gone but the pain was still very intense. I also had some sharp edges on my trays which were really cutting up my tongue. The Dr told me that she couldn't really tell what caused my face to swell that way and to file the edges with an Emory board or use wax to over them. She provided me with wax and a rinse for mouth sores and I left.
The third day I woke up with more swelling but it was of my lips and cheeks and not as severe. My mother, who only saw me the first day said that she felt that my face looked a bit swollen then also. So maybe this is a side affect I will have to deal with for some time. The swelling lasted all day. I read a lot on some of the things people did to reduce the pain and a few people said flossing and swishing with warm salt water relieved their gums, as well as leaving the aligner on and skipping breakfast. So on this day I had the aligners on from 12 AM to 2PM (I had brushed my teeth before I put the trays on at 12 and brushed my tongue before I left for class in the morning so bad breath wasn't an issue). I took the aligners off and used my wet soft toothbrush to massage my gums a bit, and swished with the saltwater. I ate more Mac and cheese and chilli from Panera and the pain was back down to a 3. A bit painful to chew but nothing crazy. When I finished, I thoroughly brushed and flossed my teeth and used listerine after. My gums bled a lot while I was flossing which I can attribute to me not usually flossing and the fact that they were swollen from the trays. I popped the trays back in and the pain came back. But after an hour it mostly went away. I felt the pressure on gums though.
I repeated this process for dinner with even better results.

Today I'm not in pain really. It's been four days so maybe my mouth has gotten over the initial shock. My bottom row has a slight numbing pain but it's not bad. Filing the aligners didn't work so I resorted to using the wax to protect my poor tongue. I'll try filing again today but I do wish they had done it at the Drs office. I'll post pictures soon.
