Hello, I am a 52 year old woman, mother, and wife,...

Hello, I am a 52 year old woman, mother, and wife, and have three children. Two of my children are adults living outside the home, and my youngest is nine, yea, I said nine, lol...All my life I have had a large belly, even at 100 lbs, which has been quite a while. I am 5'2, and 160 lbs. My surgery is on November 5, and I am getting cold feet as well as feeling guilty about spending such a large amount of money on myself, when we could use the money for other things. I also am concerned about the surgery because of my age, and I have Sjogrens Syndrome, which is a autoimmune disease. Does anyone else on here have an autoimmune disease and is getting a tummy tuck?

I cannot believe I posted before pics of my belly,...

I cannot believe I posted before pics of my belly, I am trully disgusted. I cannot wait to have my surgery done, I hope it meets all my expectations. Seeing before and after pics on this site, I felt compelled to show my true self. I figure if all you lovely ladies were brave enough to post your before pics so that others may benefit from them, I should do my part.

Nanny, I am 55 and am 44day post op. still get tired but coming along okay. Please note this is a slow, & I mean slow helping process. Just make sure you have everything you need from stool softener, electric recliner ( if you can rent one), pillows, shower seat with arms, protein bars, fiber bars ,water, arnica gel & arnica pills that go under the tongue to help with swelling. Don't know if your doctor does drains or not but consider going panty less. Best suggestion, read some of the review from August & beyond, but remember to follow YOUR PS instruction. Everyone is different & every PS does things different. Check to see if someone else used the same doctor as you, that will also help. Good luck. & remember we all have had doubts before & after the surgery. Speaking for myself I even had crying session after surgery. Keep us posted. You will have no regret.

Thanks so much for all the information! Is it really necessary to have an electric recliner or hospital bed? Did you purchase a raised toilet seat, I have read some people say it helps alot?

I didn't use a raised toilet. It is what you are comfortable with. Same thing with the electric bed versus electric recliner. I used the chair which I felt help me get up when it was time to use the bathroom. Having the chair kept me in one place. In the forum is a list of hing we wish we knew before the TT and a list or after. Overall, just take our time & look at the different topics, reviews, Q & A and the forum. I think it will help you. Plus everyone chimes in with enouraging words & support, which we all need.

Ok, let me begin by letting everyone know I have...

Ok, let me begin by letting everyone know I have THE most wonderful husband in the world, lol....He loves me very much, always helpful, and does most of the household chores, takes care of our 9 year old daughter, and works a full time job and never complains.

Now the bad part! This morning I asked him if he wanted to see something disgusting, and he said to me no, not another tummy tuck surgery. I said no, not another surgery, just look. I showed him some before pics on this site, and he said ewe with a yucky face, and I said, WELL, YOU ARE LOOKING AT ME! THIS IS WHY I WANT A TUMMY TUCK, I TOLD HIM. Now I remind you, this is from a man who always tells me I am beautiful. We both looked at each other, my eyebrow lifted, and laughed till we cried.

hi neighbor! I al just south of you, in the Lehigh Valley.I ised to live and work in Tannersville. It;s nice to see someone local on here! I had looked at Dr. Herman's site online and was considering him also. I actually reached out to someone here on this site who used him and she was very pleased. I am going with a PS in Allentown, and I am having a lower body lift. My date is Oct 18th. I am SO excited! good luck to you!

Well hello there, lol...It is nice to hear from someone close by. What PS did you go with michtrif? Can u remember who it was on here that had surgery by Dr. Herman, I would love to see the results and ask questions about him. Wow, lower body lift, good for you. I go in November 5th, so don't forget to post about your experience, I would love to hear from you, being that we are so close. Good luck to you, and don't be a stranger!

Hi nanny938,
You shouldn't feel guilty about spending any kind of money on yourself. You and every woman deserve to look and feel good, specially after having children.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve ourselves a little. :)
