I have a red scar from a cold sore about 3 weeks...
I have a red scar from a cold sore about 3 weeks old. Will the VBeam treatment help me? I just want the redness to be gone but I'm afraid of doing more damage. I'm interested in the non-pupuric. I accidently brushed the healing scab off & it hasn't healed back to my lip color. The redness is bothering me very badly & VBeam seems like my only hope.

That scar from the cold sore will go away before the redness from the vbeam does. Why bother. Besides, they will not treat you if you have active herpes. They always ask
It'll be a month next week so it'll no longer be active. How long before the redness subsides? It was different this time as the scab came off.
Be patient. I have had cold sores over the years. When they are on the skin, and not just the lip it can stay red for a month, or more. Make sure you put sunscreen on it

You will be fine. If in the future you have a reason to use vbeam I wouldn't hesitate. It's a great laser.
What about the lowest setting?
I am no expert, but I don't see the reason to spend the money for something that is going to clear up anyway. If you really want to do it, call the doc and see if he will do it for you
This time was different because the scab came off & I've never seen redness last this long on myself. Usually it goes away in a week or so. It's been over 3 weeks :-(
This time is different where the redness is staying longer than usual because the scabs came off. It's usually gone in a week or so :-( I have a consult next week however I'm going to get as much info as I can about the settings & my options as far as getting them back to their normal color.
I've read horror stories regarding the VBeam. The lips are the main focus of the face too. I'm very hesitant on this treatment.
I have had nothing but great results from vbeam. It cured my Rosacea and tightened my skin. It is a Godsend for me.

Do NOT do v beam for this. Your redness will go away in its own and the v beam might just make you get another cold sore.
