How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I have tried to rectify this problem with Dr Lane and his ONLY solution was to cut out my scars and then stitch them back up. For obvious reasons I am not letting him touch me again. No matter what, even if I go to a professional plastic surgeon, I am stuck with ugly scars that cannot be hidden. FYI-Dr Lane is NOT a plastic surgeon...I didn't think it was important since he seemed to have quite a bit of experience with the procedures...I was wrong. I wanted to share my story b/c from the research I have done...I am far from the only person that has been a 'victim' of this man. I would hate to see someone else spend the money I have spent and left with the scarring and lumps & bumps that I am.

I went for a consultation with the SmartLipo Dr in East Lyme, CT. Same story as many others...I was told I was a perfect candidate b/c I wasn't overweight just had some problem areas from pregnancy and aging. Was told that my skin would tighten and stomach would be flat.
I have to give credit where credit is due. I do look better in clothes but I do not have a flat stomach and I have HORRIBLE scars. After consultation with a real plastic surgeon, have been told the only way to get rid of them is to cut them out b/c they look like cysts. I was told that the scars are from laser burns and friction that occured during the procedure. Also, my skin would not tighten any more than it has.
I thought I had done my research as I was told that the Dr had done the most SmartLipo procedures in the state. Unfortunately, lesson learned that does not mean he is the best.
So now I am left with sagging skin, lumps and still have a "pooch".
I should note that I am well within normal weight and work out 4-5 times a week...so I am not the type of person who was looking for miracles as I know it takes some hard work to obtain the figure I want.
Regarding the pain...it hurts and don't be fooled that you will go to work the next day. I was very sore for about 2 weeks and didn't feel 100% for about a month. There is no way I could have gone to work the next day b/c I could barely move for about 3 or 4 days after.
Regarding his staff-most of them are great although don't plan on seeing the same face more than twice. It seems that every time I have gone for follow up appointments he has a new person working there-another red flag.
Please really look into other options or at least other doctors before you make a final decision.
