Mine is the usual story, I have had big breasts since schooldays. I am 5ft 1 and weigh 130 lbs. Chiropractors, osteopaths, acupuncturists - I've paid thousands over the years to try to stay functional. All my adult life I've had lower back pain, neck pain, migraines and shoulder pains. Since the menopause my breasts have grown heavier and lower. Now, in addition to the usual pain, my breasts press against the bottom of my ribcage and prevent me taking a full breath when I try to exercise, or even while I'm sitting at my desk. I can be a 30J or a 28HH depending on the make of bra. I've never found a sports bra that could contain my boobs. They slosh about inside the bra which is never the right shape for someone as short as me. In addition I have now developed upper back pain and spasms of my shoulder to neck muscles since the menopause. I used to be so active but now nothing seems to help. I have borrowed the money for my breast reduction op from a wonderful friend and my op will be on 17th January 2017. I'll try to upload a before photo. Would particularly love to hear from anyone my size who has had surgery.

Hi! I'm a size 30i, 5'2, 130 lbs, and my reduction is one month after yours. I'd love to keep in touch!! It's so difficult to find others with a small band size and approx the same cup size! Any idea how small you might go?

Hi, I've had my reduction and am really happy with the size of my breasts. I don't know yet what cup size they are but I've posted some photos so you can see what I've ended up with. I asked to go as small as possible and that's what he's done for me. I have absolutely no regrets! Best wishes for your upcoming surgery xx

I asked my PS to go as small as possible also! My surgery was yesterday and I wrapped up like a mummy, so won't really know what I look like until the 23rd!

My pain is really not too bad at all. Taking one T3 about every 6 hours along with my Antibiotic!

Thanks for the good wishes! I leave for the hospital in an hour, surgery expected to be this afternoon. I'll try to upload a before photo once I am all marked up. I can hardly believe this is actually going to happen. I'm grateful to you ladies who have posted about your experiences, it really helps when I start to feel nervous. See you on the other side.

I've done it!

I'm on day 4 post op already!
I meant to come on and update sooner but have been feeling very nauseous and headachey. Much better today so here goes.
I didn't have long to wait for my surgery after I arrived at the hospital. Everyone was lovely and my consultant came and took some photos and marked up my breasts. i remember chatting with the anaesthetist and being prepared then the next thing I knew I was all done and back in my room.
I don't think I got on well with the Oramorph or maybe it was the after effects of the anaesthetic but I felt very confused, nauseous and headachey for the next 12 hours. I was looked after really, really well by the lovely nurses and my consultant kept in regular contact with them to check on my progress. Let me repeat the advice I have seen others give - do whatever you need to do to prevent constipation!!!! I ended up having an enema and wished I'd had it sooner. It's not just the bloating, it's the nausea and headache it causes at a time you could well do without it.
The pain from my breasts never reached higher than a 6/10. I have been comfortable taking paracetamol or ibuprofen ever since day 2.
My breasts were wide and low and I asked for them to be as small as possible whilst still retaining a natural shape. My surgeon listened carefully to what I wanted and why, and I think he has done a fabulous job.
Will try to post some photos now.

I hope things go well for you. Congratulations on making this decision - so far I don't have a single regret.
I'm sure you will feel an immediate difference! My husband said my posture has been muc better since the surgery as well. Good luck!
