As far as I can tell I have full feeling in both nipples. I had the drains removed on day 2 Post Op. The right one bled more than the left and has more bruising, but they both feel the same in terms of swelling. The soreness is minimal providing I don't overdo it. I have no regrets at all having had this procedure, except perhaps that I didn't have it done sooner. I can't wait to get back to all the sports my boobs and the back pain they caused prevented me from doing.
Good luck to all you ladies considering this op and happy healing to those who have already had it done.

You look fantastic! So glad everything went well for you! I'm day 10 post-op now and here in Ontario, Canada, my PS has me wrapped up in a bandage that I will have on for 2 more days! That will be 12 days since my surgery, and I haven't really had a good look at myself yet! Continued great healing to you! :)))
January 23, 2017
Hi Loubou, have you had your bandage removed yet? How are you feeling?
January 23, 2017
Hi Moominmama! Todays the day! I'd doing well actually! I have had to remove most of the tape as I had a bad reaction to it, so basically I have the bandage being held in place by a stretchy bra! Works fine though, but will still be so glad to finally have it off! I have had quite a bit of aching in my left breast, but as I wake up this morning it seems pretty good! So we'll see what he says today at my appointment. Anxious also to find out exactly how much he removed! Hope you are doing well also! :)))
January 23, 2017
PS: Your surgeon did a fantastic job, you look great! :)))
January 23, 2017
Yes, it's off and it feels sooooo good! Everything is good, still have bruising and swelling of course, but my PS was very pleased! He took over 900 grams off the right and over 800 off the left! Don't have to go back for 6 weeks now! :)))
January 23, 2017
You look great! My surgery is 1/26, I hope my PS can get me this small. I asked for the same, but not sure if I'll look as good as you since my chest is wider & there's more skin to deal with. Hope all keeps going smoothly for you!
January 23, 2017
Good luck to you....I'm 12 days post-op and finally getting bandages off today. Hard to tell what I really look like right now, but I have a load off of my chest and it sure feels good! Please keep us posted! :)))
January 24, 2017
Loubou54: how do u feel? Today is our 12 days post op. I feel a burning sensation and still very tight. Energy is good but both breasts feel very sensitive. What about u? I can't still resume socializing or going out.
January 24, 2017
Hi Dr.AG! Yes, yesterday was day 12, and I finally got to see my PS! He was very pleased with my progress. I felt really good yesterday, but was quite worn out by the time we got home, as I did a bit of shopping as well after my appointment. The nurse removed my bandage, cleaned my incisions, took all of the staples out of my nipples (no it didn't hurt), and put very thin gauze strips on. My PS had removed over 900 grams from my right breast and over 800 from my left, so almost 2 pounds each side! I was overwhelmed when the nurse had me look in the mirror with just my bra on! What a difference! I am still bruised and swollen Dr.AG, and I'm sore for sure. Can't say I have any burning, but probable tightness too. I'm not up to any socializing either, and today I don't feel nearly as energetic as I did yesterday. Kinda of blah actually. So I'll just get more rest today I guess. I'm doing small things around the house but I'm not pushing myself! When do you see your doctor again? Take care.
January 24, 2017
Hi Loubou54: so glad ur doing so much better and u finally saw ur doctor. I am scheduled the 1st of February but I want to see him earlier. The tightness is now moved to the front of my breast and no longer on the sides. The burning sensation still there, which I think is due to the incisions trying to heal and drying up. I can't rub any oil on it bc they are covey by tapes. Today is 13 days post op. I think by next week, we should've a big turner, at the start of week 3. Good luck:)))
January 24, 2017
Yes Dr.AG....I think next week we will start to see lots of improvement. Today though, I was very tired and went back to bed and slept for about three hours! We still have lots of healing to do. My PS said not to start any scar treatment/oil etc., until I take these guaze strips off in about 6-10 days. So next week at some point, I will start using the Rosehip Oil that I have. He also had Scar Treatment in his office if I chose. He didn't pressure me to buy it at all ($100), so I will start with this, and see how it goes. At 62 years old I have no problem with seeing some scaring so I think I'll be fine! Have you had other visits with your PS since your surgery? What is the one on February 1st for? Take care Dr.AG! :)))
January 24, 2017
Loubou54: my visit on February 1st is my follow up post op visit ( my 2nd one). He has not told me anything yet about scar Tx. I will ask him next week. What about ur stiches? Did he remove them or they are internally like mine and dissolvable? Do u have a burning sensation too? I do, which could mean the stiches are healing. Hope so. Nobody in this site is talking about burning sensation. So I don't know. I can't wait to feel normal. This is harder than I thought, as far as the speech of the healing. Very slow. I also know that age has a lot to do with it:(((. Keep me posted
January 25, 2017
Hi Dr.AG...Other than the staples that were taken out yesterday, I have no stitches to be taken out! So I guess mine will dissolve like yours. I have areas that are sore, but I can't really say it feels like burning. But everyone is different! I have been soooo tired today. Went back to bed and slept for 3 hours this morning, and just now am waking up again after falling asleep after dinner! Yes, the healing is slow, and yes, I think age has lots to do with it too! Like I said, unless I have some issue that pops up, I don't see my doctor until March, then I'm assuming that will be the last visit! Your surgery looks really good to me! I'm sure everything is fine. I'm just leaving these strips of gauze on for another week or so, then will start applying some Rosehip oil I have, providing there are no openings anywhere! :)))
January 25, 2017
Thanks Loubou54: I will go see my doctor tomorrow bc I have to pick up some papers for leave from work from Kaiser and I will try to see if my doctor can see me tomorrow, assuming he is not in surgery. If so, I will move by next week apt to this week. This tightness I am feeling, I want to make sure it's normal. Nobody else here in this site is complaining about this at this stage of the post op. Will keep u posted. Happy healing:)))
January 25, 2017
Good luck Dr.AG....hope you can get in to see him early! Take care!
January 26, 2017
Hi Dr.AG and Loubou: Just had a bad couple of days. Burning, stinging and stabbing pain in part of the crease incision in my left breast. By yesterday afternoon it was constant and my breast was getting hard and the skin below the tape stung if I touched it. Meds didn't touch the pain at all. The pain was so bad I cried! Left voicemail for my PS to call me. Whilst waiting, I worked out that I could get some relief by lying on my back and not moving so i guessed this was not an infection. Had a closer look - the bit that hurts is the only bit where the natural crease of my breast is in line with the incision. The tape over this section has a crease in it that follows the line of my breast crease and therefore the incision. I think the elastic bandage has been pressing this tapewrinkle into the incision, really hard. I decided to go without the elastic bandage as of last night and this morning things feel a lot better. Have spoken to my PS this morning, we're going to see how it goes and if no continued improvement I'll see him on Saturday instead of Monday.
Good luck today Dr.AG, I hope you get to see your PS today. Let us know how you get on xx
January 26, 2017
Moominmama: sorry you are going through so much pain and discomfort. I saw my PS yesterday and he removed the tape on the top of my incisions and gave me a different bra. At first, it relieved a lot of pressure and tightness but then last night was the worse night since my surgery on the 11th. My PS is very pleased with my healing.
I think I know what the problem is: the incisions are healing, getting dry and pulling which makes my chest tight, very tight. For the first time last night I took a T3. He told me not to start any oil Tx until I see him next week and not to massage it, also being swollen is also contributing to the tightness. All together, I am miserable but got to be patient. I might extent my return to work by another week bc there is no freaking way I can go back to work. Hoping by 3rd week, tightness will decrease significantly.
January 27, 2017
Oh Moominmama, I'm so sorry to hear you have been having such a painful couple of days! It very well could be from the crease digging into your incision! Sure hope you are continuing to get some relief now! Keep us posted. We are all in this together so we can really appreciate each others pain for sure! Take care!
January 27, 2017
Dr.AG....I had really hoped that changing to a different bra, would be the answer. I'm so sorry you are still having such discomfort! Hopefully , by the time you see him again and start your oil treatment, you will start to get huge relief! I also hope that you can extend your return to work, so that when you do go back you feel a whole lot better! When I saw my PS on Monday, I felt pretty good. Tuesday and Wednesday were almost lost days for me because I was so darn tired. Mostly just slept, and when I was awake I seemed to be very uncomfortable! Today was much better, after I was able to get more sleep, plus I took a Tramadol. Tomorrow, could be another very tired day....who knows! I'm just taking it one day at a time. By this time next week we'll all be that much further along, and hopefully feel that much better! Also Dr.AG, I have kept my incisions completely dry so far, even though the nurse said I can go ahead and shower. Today I had a nice bath, but kept my incisions dry. Are you doing the same?
January 27, 2017
Loubou54: my PS told me to just let the water run which I am doing during my shower. I don't use any soap or anything on the incisions. Actually the moisture helps with the tightness, so once I am able to use oil I think it will help a lot. It's funny that u don't any tightness while mine is driving me crazy. I guess everybody reacts differently and each body heals differently. So far this has not been an easy process for me. Will keep u posted. Glad ur doing well:)))
January 27, 2017
The most I have done (like the nurse did on Monday), is wipe the incision area very gently. I still have the thin strips of gauze on my incisions and my PS said to leave them on for another 10 days (so that will be next Wednesday)! So I'm just leaving well enough alone for now. I had that wee bit of oozing yesterday, and now it's fine! One day at a time. By the way, what does the bra look like that you're wearing! I had just one of my comfy ones on Monday, and the nurse said that was perfect, so that's the type I'm continuing to wear for now!
January 27, 2017
Loubou54: the bra was given to me by my PS and is very comfortable. My incisions are hurting and when I rub under it, it feels better but I try to stay away from it.
January 23, 2017
Thank you, I'm so happy with my reults already! Allergic reaction to the tape sounds unbearable - did it hurt when you took the tape off or was it just a relief? I am wearing a stretchy compression bandage and only take it off to shower and to check that everything's ok. Really looking forward to getting the tape removed and not having to wear this stretchy boobtube bandage as sometimes it digs into the incisions. I find that how well I'm feeling is directly related to how much I do. Trying to do a bit more each day to slowly build up to going back to work after 2 weeks. Hope your appointment went well. I cant wait to find out how much i had removed too!
January 23, 2017
Yes, it's off and it feels sooooo good! Everything is good, still have bruising and swelling of course, but my PS was very pleased! He took over 900 grams off the right and over 800 off the left! Don't have to go back for 6 weeks now! :)))
January 24, 2017
That is amazing!!!! And you don't need to go back for 6 weeks so all must be healing really well. Whatever you're doing, keep it up!!!!! xxxx
January 24, 2017
I know, thank you.....Yes 6 weeks (March 6th)! The main thing I'm doing is getting lots of rest! Today I'm not as energetic as I was yesterday, lol, so I'm not doing too much! Overall, I feel pretty darn good! :)))
January 24, 2017
You're right Moominmama.....If you over do it, you don't feel so great! Same here, so I just let my body tell me to take it easy, and it's working. When do you get your compression bandage off? My PS removed over 900 grams from my right breast and over 800 grams from my left! What a difference. After the nurse cleaned my incisions, removed the staples and put some thin strips of gauze on me, she had me look in the mirror with just my bra on, and I was completely overwhelmed. Very pleased with the outcome! Let me know how you're doing ok? Take care!

I've done it!

Moominmama
I'm on day 4 post op already!

I meant to come on and update sooner but have been feeling very nauseous and headachey. Much better today so here goes.
I didn't have long to wait for my surgery after I arrived at the hospital. Everyone was lovely and my consultant came and took some photos and marked up my breasts. i remember chatting with the anaesthetist and being prepared then the next thing I knew I was all done and back in my room.
I don't think I got on well with the Oramorph or maybe it was the after effects of the anaesthetic but I felt very confused, nauseous and headachey for the next 12 hours. I was looked after really, really well by the lovely nurses and my consultant kept in regular contact with them to check on my progress. Let me repeat the advice I have seen others give - do whatever you need to do to prevent constipation!!!! I ended up having an enema and wished I'd had it sooner. It's not just the bloating, it's the nausea and headache it causes at a time you could well do without it.
The pain from my breasts never reached higher than a 6/10. I have been comfortable taking paracetamol or ibuprofen ever since day 2.

My breasts were wide and low and I asked for them to be as small as possible whilst still retaining a natural shape. My surgeon listened carefully to what I wanted and why, and I think he has done a fabulous job.
Will try to post some photos now.

Thanks for the good wishes! I leave for the hospital in an hour, surgery expected to be this afternoon. I'll try to upload a before photo once I am all marked up. I can hardly believe this is actually going to happen. I'm grateful to you ladies who have posted about your experiences, it really helps when I start to feel nervous. See you on the other side.
