Otoplasty with Dr. Sahar Nadimi

I'm a 27 year old male who has always had perturbing ears. I wanted to get this taken care of, and WFH through COVID was the perfect opportunity to do so. Dr Nadimi and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable, kind and responsive. I came in for a quick consultation that lasted for about 30 minutes. The surgery itself is straight forward. The surgery is done in the Oakbrook office under local anesthesia. You are given Valum to relax and sleep through most of the surgury (took less than 3 hours total). The worst part of the surgery is the numbing, which only lasts a few moments. After the surgery, you are given a fairly elaborate head wrap that goes under your chin and around your forehead. I had the wrap on for 3 nights total. Once the wrap is removed, you can gently shower your hair, but avoid letting water hit your ears directly. I had a follow up consultation the morning after the surgery to swap out the bandages (took less than 10 minutes) and again on the third day when the wrap was removed for good. Afterwards, you wear a headband (can be purchased from Walgreens) on your head for the next week. From there, you only need to wear the headband at night.

After the surgery, I got an Uber back to my apartment. The pain in my ears was pretty severe for a few hours until the Hydrocodone really kicked in (take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours). By the evening, the pain was gone and I felt completely fine. I slept with no issue. I did not need to take any pain killers the next day. I was worried that my entire face would be swollen, but the swelling really only occurs in the ears. For anyone considering this surgery, you can wear a hoodie to hide the wrap for the first few days.

I cannot emphasize enough how great Dr. Nadimi and her staff are. I have been here before for a separate procedure, and the service, attention to detail, follow up and communication have been top tier. I literally have nothing to complain about. If you are debating between a few surgeons, Dr. Nadimi is the one to go with.
