I am 23 months post-op Gastric Bypass surgery. I hit my goal weight at 14 months out and began my plastics process in August of 2014. I had a full tummy tuck, arm lift and breast lift. The surgeries went well and I was anxious to do the backside. Dr. Erdman at Duke University Aesthetic Center did those surgeries and he will do this one as well. I have lost 140 pounds from my highest weight and I have a lot of extra skin. I do not want any implants or fat transfers, so no Brazilian here! As you will see in my before pictures I have always been bottom heavy and it's like my body has melted into my butt. I got tired of looking like I am sitting in a puddle of skin. It amazes me that I spent my lift trying to reduce my butt and now people are getting implants and fat transfers! I saw Iggy Azalea on the People's Choice Awards and her butt was enormous!!
I had my pre op appointment two days ago and he told me the surgery would be 3 hours. He is going to go prone and supine to tie together my tummy tuck scars. He did tell me that I am looking at the dreaded DRAINS again. Bleck. I hate those darn things. This time I am going to rest so I can get the drains out as soon as possible.
Will post my pictures soon!

Surgery day - January 27, 2015

So I was pretty ticked off.. My surgery WAS scheduled for last week, but there was a conflict with my surgeon and he had to assist on a 10 hour surgery. So I was put off a few days. I rearranged my schedule and made it work. So ... this is how the day went:
I was told to bathe myself in Hibiclense so I woke up at 4:30 am and jumped in the shower. I shaved and cleaned everything with the cleanser and got the husband out of bed. Of course I couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight so I was super thirsty and dying for my coffee. I was supposed to be at Duke at 6:15am, but we took a wrong turn and I was like 7 minutes late. My nurse was freaking out. No worries, I was fast and compliant.... she did my work up and we were ready for anesthesiologist by 7:30. Dr. Erdmann was on time and he took a LONG time marking me up with the sharpie markers. Black and blue marks this time.
I was wheeled into the OR -- there was some chit chat and then the drugs kicked in. Next thing I know it was 11:40 and I was waking up. Oh my. It was the WORST pain ever. I was panicking I was in so much pain. They kept pushing meds and finally it subsided. It was awful.
Once I was fully conscious and out of pain I was allowed to go home. I had Phenergan for nausea, Ceftin as my antibiotic and Oxycodone for pain.
I passed out in the recliner and slept for a few hours.
They have in in this compression girdle that zips up on the sides. Has a trap door crotch that my two drains run through. Oh yeah, the drains make me mad because there isn't hardly any slack so they are pinned near my crotch.
I did not eat much because of the nausea. A few crackers and broth.
Around 11pm I decided to go to bed. Very uncomfortable. I had a terrible night's sleep. Going to be in the recliner next.

One Day Post Op

Ow.
It's hard to get comfortable.
I went in for my post op today and they gave me Dilaudid to see if it will handle my pain better. It sucks to not be able to sit comfortably. I did not have fat transfer or implants ... so at least I can sit.
I am actually 5 months post op today from my other procedures. Time is flying!
