I am a registered nurse of 37 years and the past...
I am a registered nurse of 37 years and the past 27 of them at a surgery center. I am very petite (5 feet and 108 lbs) and carrying around triple D's was just too much. Over the past 5 years I had developed migraine headaches, neck pain , upper back and shoulder pain. I had been to physical therapy ,and massage therapy with only temporary relief. I just assumed that only large women could have a breast reduction that insurance would cover. I have taken care of numerous patients with breast reductions but never thought I would qualify for insurance covered breast reduction surgery.
Noticing a new plastic surgeon performing incredible breast reductions surgery at our facility, and several of his patients were not much bigger than me. I stopped him in the hall one day and told him about my symptoms . He stopped and with true caring and compassion discussed my problems and told me to make an appointment at his office. Today I have a new body and 32 B's . I love them. My insurance covered in full.
It is now April and not one migraine have I had. I have not even felt like I needed a massage much less PT . I can wear button up shirts now and I look normal. I feel so much healthier and can actually run with out holding my breast. I am more self confident and just happier.
I have worked with many doctors in my 37 years and Dr. Hughes rates up at the top of my list. He took such good care of me even giving me his cell phone number. That is something you just don't see any more . I have also seen how he takes care of his patients. He is very meticulous which plastic surgeons needs to be, but his genuine concern is remarkable. Compassion and caring are not something you can teach and it's something we nurses wish all doctors possessed . Dr. Hughes certainly has these traits and we as patients are lucky for this.
