Mixed Experience

My surgery itself is working great. I have now lost about 70 lbs from my highest weight. The part that was not so great: shortly after I returned home from Mexico I began vomiting, had 2 trips to the hospital, and was eventually diagnosed with H. pylori from my primary care doctor. When I emailed MBC, the best advice they could offer me was to take Dramamine. I never met Nina but in email she is responsive. In person at the hospital Rossella was difficult to communicate with and I personally do NOT like taking medical advice from someone who is not a medical professional—for example the person who checked us in on the first day and took us to the various EKG and lab work stations also dispensed the night’s sleeping pill/anti anxiety meds. I do think Dr. Wilhelmy is a good surgeon, and when I was in the hospital waiting to be diagnosed with H. Pylori all the doctors looking at my stomach images said my surgery changes look great. I had great nurses who started the IV and did the initial bloodwork. The night shift did not answer the call button very fast. I would go back for surgery with Dr Wilhelmy but there are other elements of the MBC experience that don’t work so great.
