6 months out!
WORTH IT
I have not focused on the scale. I have just focused on sticking to my regimen of protein and vitamins. Sometimes I become bored or down right disgusted with food or eating. I suggest using protein drinks. Exercise is a struggle for me and now I’m struggling with sticking to no sugary foods. It’s tempting to not indulge in a cookie when you don’t get sick and it slides easily into your sleeve. I struggle with eating turkey breast and chicken, depending on how they are prepared. I’m 101 lbs down in 6 months and feel better than I have ever!

Going great. Some days protein shakes are delicious and other days not so much.

Post Op Day 1
Surgery went well. I was in pain when I woke up after surgery but the recovery nurse was very efficient in getting me medicine. I arrived in my room yesterday at about 3 pm. I couldn’t drink until 5pm. I have having 2oz of liquid every 15 min. I just slowly sipped and take my time. I have been able to I to the restroom and I bathed myself this morning. I am about to take my first walk in the hallway. I feel great as long as my pain is managed.

how has your journey been? ive completed all my pre-op requirements and now just waiting on insurance approval. i was completely on board with the duo switch..but reading about the undernourishment/vitamin issues im kinda getting worried. is it hard to get your protein in? is it hard to get all the vitamins in?

Not hard to get anything in. It was hard the first week, which after any major surgery, eating is usually a difficult task. But if you follow your surgeon’s directions you will be fine. I am 20 days post op and I have lost 31 lbs.
