Today was my pre op appointments and also a go for Thursday. Super excited and yet still scared. Looking forward to being done with the shakes. Sooooo over them. :). I'm to the point where even just the smell makes me gag. Getting them down is a real concern post op. Any suggestions there?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. Im a pre-op patient getting ready for Gasto bypass Jan 22. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I realize everyone different but I'm wondering what some averages of weight loss that everyone had at 3months, 6months, 9months and one year. FYI I am 42, 5'8" 290lbs. Thanks!

I am 5 weeks postop.
I am 5'2" short
Surgery day I was 227 lbs
Today at 5 weeks I weigh 203 lbs.

Congrats! How has your recovery been?
The first 3 days were the worse. But wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
I only needed pain pills the first 8 days.
I got the flu around 2 weeks after surgery. That was bad. Other than when I had the flu I have been able to keep my food down great. No problems.
Had my rny done on October 6th 2014 I have been averaging 1-2 lbs. a week I have lost 70 lbs so far my pre-op weight was 267 and I a 5" 1' my age is 39

Recovery for me wasn't bad at all I never finished my pain meds I think walking was the best thing it feels so good afterwords I only had one problem with recovery I found out after surgery I was very allergic to the Orange stuff they put on you before any surgery I dont know how that happened I have had surgery before with c-sections never a problem before
Can't remember all the milestones, but had surgery 12/12/14, 5'2" tall, 63 y/o, 236 lbs. Today, I weigh 122 lbs and wear a size 4. I'm sure I will go down to a size 2 after tummy tuck to remove all loose skin.
vp5109, this can't be right ...that you had surgery last month and this month weigh 122, you must mean you had surgery one year ago in 2013???
