I am a mom of two my oldest is six and my youngest is 17 months old, I have wanted a tummy tuck since my first. I cannot seem to get rid of this big old belly for nothing.lol I hate wearing my clothes because I do not like how they fit, I have a great sense of style (if I may say so my self) and my tummy is getting in the way of me dressing the way I want and with confidence . I refuse to girdle down my gut for the rest of my days..its gotta go. I really appreciate this site, so much information, people sharing their stories its really great!!!. I hope my experience will be helpful for someone else thinking of taking this step. I will be adding the dreaded before pictures soon, this is the only place I would ever feel comfortable doing so.

Hi fedup68 yes I am having muscle repair as well, I really need it, they are so far separated. Not looking forward to the pain from that.

It will make your tummy look spectacular!! I don't think I'm having it done I vaguely remember him saying I didn't need it but I'm going back on the 30th Nov for my pre op so I will double check then.

I sure hope so!!!! Thats a good thing that you dont need it, that will make the recovery a little easier, from what I have read there is more discomfort with the muscle repair. Before you know it your time will be here, the weeks leading up go really fast, this last week has felt the longest as the anxiety level really starts to increase.

Yes he will, I figured it made sense to, as he will be in there already, he said that might affect my belly button a little, in terms of the way it looks, but I dont want it to get worse and have to fix it in the future.

That is awesome. Im scheduled for Dec 7th, my surgeon told me that he had to do the hernia in a surgery. If i choose to do it during my tummy tuck, I would lose my belly button. Still kind of confused... Did your surgeon tell you that it was a possibility?

He did say it might impact the way it might look, I went on 3 consults and they all said they would fix it in surgery. I just want a flat tummy hopefully my belly button will not look too weird.

Ooh ok, I'm in the same boat with the flat tummy. I need the works, extra skin removed, abdominal muscles repaired, lipo, and hernia. But the hernia won't get done at the same time since he said its not medically harming anything. I can't wait to see your results, our stomachs look pretty similar...

Today is the day... so many emotions. I hopefully regain some of my body back and confidence as well.I slept a little last night, my nerves plus my hubby snoring kept me up.lol ...see you all on the flat side.

It is done, recovery time. I feel like i did 100 billion push ups so tight, pain is tolerable had one pain killer about 7, now i am dying to see my tummy, i woke up with my compression garment on. I will try yo take a peek tomorrow, wont see doc until next week Wednesday. I bought a hospital bed from Craigslist for $150 fully electric worth every penny so far.
