How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

I'm 49, 5'1" & weigh 134lbs.
I'm 12 days post op & feeling great. I had the droopiest boobs ever + a really ugly tummy!! Now they are so perky + the tum is flat if a tad swollen, although still taped up until tomorrow when I go for first post op visit with my surgeon when I hope wonderful sights will be revealed.
Things are a little different in Ireland. Your drains are removed before you leave hospital - I spent two nights in hospital + drains were removed 24 hours post op. I think everything is good. I certainly feel good. I was quite frightened re recovery from two surgeries but also felt that I'd like to get them over + done with + my surgeon said she'd done this combination before + that I was a suitable candidate. I'm soooo glad I did.
I was panicking about how I'd cope with convalescing as getting plastic surgery in Ireland is still kinda taboo & no one owns up to it. There are no recliners or hospital beds to rent & I was reading all these fab long lists of what is recommended for the days after surgery & NONE of the stuff was available here!! I felt very unprepared & very much like the poor relation. However I coped just fine with over the counter paracetamol + extra pillows so my advice to any of my European RS sisters is go for it!!
Was off pain meds on day 5, drove car (automatic) on day 9, + have been doing the school run for the last couple of days. RESULT!! Oh yeah, bowels sluggish for 3/4 days but pretty much back to normal now. TBH I'm getting nervous reading other reviews & thinking "this is too easy - what's not right?". My hubby just sighs at me!! I'm standing & walking upright (I think!!) Although still sleeping propped up on cushions. Pain only when sneezing or coughing & even that is nothing compared to a week/10 days ago. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that recovery really varies from person to person. My main discomfort is from the compression garment for my tum sometimes riding up towards breast incisions. I am also wearing a surgical support bra so am kinda well padded at the moment.
I always had big boobs (F/G cup) until I lost weight and they shrunk to a fairly respectable DD but sooo saggy (almost on my bb!!). I wasn't sure if I needed implants or if I'd be happy with the lift alone. Doc recommended getting lift done as can have implants at a later date if I'm not happy but at the moment I'm loving these smaller, neater girls. Was tired of struggling to fit neatly into tops so I'll see how I feel when everything has settled. I'll try to attach some pics but if not (I'm a technophobe!) I'll see if I can find a tutorial for dummies online somewhere & add at a later date.
Thank you to everyone who posted their stories on here because without you, I would not have had the courage to go through with this wonderful life changing experience
