I've only just had this done yesterday so I cannot...

I've only just had this done yesterday so I cannot comment on its effectiveness yet. I do want to document the procedure though, so might as well start from the beginning. I have had hyperhidrosis and sadly bromhidrosis since hitting puberty. I sweat so much, its actually incredible. I used to have sweat patches down to my hips, the top part of my jeans would be wet. It's inconceivable that a human could sweat so much. I would wear big men's clothes ( always black) because the cloth was no where near my armpit so the stains showed less. I would sweat through sweatshirts and even resorted to walking around school with a snowjacket! I started with drysol which worked really well for the sweat (not so much with odor) up until I was about 22. I was having to apply the drysol much more frequently and noticed it would actually null out my deodorant, very embarrassing. So at this point I was sweating a bit but stunk like raw onions 1 minute out of the shower. The jokes at work were cruel and everyone was talking about me behind my back. I lived like this until I was 24 and my insurance covered botox. It did zero for me. Absolutely nothing, and I later learned botox doesn't work on apocrine glands anyway (smelly glands). Because I was immune to drysol and botox I qualified for suction curretage under my insurance. I was so excited! I thought it would be the end of my troubles forever! I had the surgery and quickly learned I still needed deodorant badly and was still struggling to find one that would cover up the odor. The surgery worked on my eccrine glands only, so on my hottest day I don't sweat through my shirts. My hyperhidrosis had been cured but not the much more debilitating bromhidrosis. So that's why I did the miradry. I am getting married in 4 weeks and I'll be expected to hug everyone and dance and I just wouldn't feel comfortable unless I had this procedure done first. I won't go into the details of how the procedure is actually done because that is well documented on this site. What I will say is that the doctor told me he had 100% success with his ~50 patients and only 2 came back for their second treatment (but all of those cases were for hyperhidrosis). After the procedure I was able to take 2 trains, a bus and walk home. Still, I haven't felt any pain which is actually making me nervous. I had the nurse do procedure on level 5 so I assumed the recovery would be worse than someone who did a level 3. My arms look like there is a golf ball underneath the skin, so that's a bit weird. Sometimes my arms feel like they are sunburned but that sensation goes away quickly. I was able to sleep last night just fine and I feel the same today as I did yesterday. I have a high pain tolerance but feeling nothing after reading other reviews makes me nervous that the nurse wasn't very aggressive with treatment.....which makes me sceptical the miradry will work. I have never been able to smell myself so I won't know if its working until Monday when I go to work, I can always hear people talking about my smell if my deodorant has failed :(

Provider Review

Dr. Prendergast

Dr. prendergast is the only licensed miradry facility in the whole of Ireland, so I really didn't have a choice. The nurse Rachel was the one who performed the procedure and she was very nice and pleasant to be with.
