I am a 30 year old mother of 4. I have never really had a flat tummy. I gained quite a bit of weight with my pregnancies and added on to it after they were born. I have lost 50 lbs over the last 2 years, which has caused my tummy to be saggy. Also I had surgery when I was 2 and the scar which was much like a c-section scar made for a nice over hang spot for my extra skin. Not quite a year ago I had a breast augmentation and uplift. After nursing 2 kiddos and loosing weight I was left with shriveled up raisins for breasts. I loved the results but still had some extra skin. I found out shortly after my BA that I needed to have a hysterectomy and decided it would be the perfect time to have a tummy tuck as well. I contacted my PS who is about 4 hrs away from where I live. He recommended a OBGYN that he preferred to work with and I got it all setup. He also agreed to do a revision on my BA at the same time. So on Jan 24th I went in for a abdominal hysterectomy, TT, and BA revision. When everyone says the first 48 hours are the worst they are not kidding. I was happy that I got to have 2 nights in the hospital thanks to the hysterectomy.
Everything went well and by day 10 my drains were both under 25 ml of fluid per day. I had my wonderful nurse friend pull my drains for me so I would not have to travel back to my PS so many times. I was so excited to have my drains out so I could take a shower finally....by far the best shower ever.
I was on percocet 2 every 4 hours and I didn't miss a dose :) unfortunately with the narcotics also comes constipation. I took a stool softener with every dose of pain pills and had a bm 5 days after, then not again for 4 more days. The second one I would say was tramatic, like giving birth. However after that was out of my system it seemed to have taken away most of the pain I was having. My PS then released me to start taking ibuprofen and I was able to taper off the narcotic. I think ib is a miracle drug.
I had my first real outing 13 dpo and went to the grocery store, then drove for the first time to my grandmas house. I think I over did it getting my kiddos rounded up and all the walking around. I rested the next 2 days and then at 16 dpo I woke up with fluid build up along my incision line. Yes it is a seroma. I didn't take the hint that I needed to take it easy and went on a short road trip with my sisters and mom, walked around for an hour, ate mexican food and had a margarita, then came home and took my kids to a birthday party where I don't think I got to sit and rest for 3 hours..... the seroma got worse. So today I have an apt with my pcp to have my fluid drained :( I love my PS but not that he is 4 hours away.
This has been a real roller coaster ride, ups and downs, both emotionally and physically. But totally worth it and I can't wait to see the end results. I miss going to the gym and doing normal life things but as my friend says I am healing. So I guess for now I will just keep healing. Happy healing to all my fellow TTers
