Dr Osuch is Good but Lip Lifts - Not So Much

I had a lip lift done by Dr Osuch a few years ago. The experience with him and his clinic was mainly positive but I do regret the procedure a bit.
Initially, I had sent photos in my enquiry. I had dental braces in the photos which although noted, I think how my philtrum would look without braces was overlooked by the team (my lip tended to stretch over them).
I had considered a nose tip surgery and lip lift but wasn't ready financially or to take extended time off work yet to do both. I was told a lip lift would be fine to do on it's own first but I think nose surgery would be better first.
Consultation:
The consultation was quite quick and my mind went a little blank so I forgot some questions. (In hindsight, the offer of other patients' usual questions would've been good. )
I would've preferred some insight into how the rest of the face like cheeks and nose and overall facial features might look in ratio to each other after the procedure. I'm surprised technology isn't up to date or more available for this, especially since even phone apps can alter face features in photos now. It's hard to tell by the doctor lifting up the lip with the side of a pen as the pen obscures what you see.
Procedure:
Dr Osuch and his team were very friendly and professional on the day of the procedure. The clinic looked well and as it should be. The worst part of the procedure is getting the anaesthetic injection. I was awake but it was okay. Music played which is good for a distraction. It's best not to think about what is going on.
After care:
I didn't see Dr Osuch again as I opted to have my stitches out two weeks later in my own country. The nurse who did it said they were stitched too tightly but I've no idea whether she was right or not.
Current opinion:
Four years on and hopefully my lip has dropped a bit. I hope it drops further but I think the look is final. I would've preferred a lot less taken off or not to have done the procedure at all because my facial feature ratios are not right now. Before, the length of my philtrum was better for the size of my forehead and chin.
Now, it has emphasised the size of my nostrils, making them look bigger, rounder, and wider. In close-up selfies, my lips look nice if mouth is closed and teeth/jaw are shut closed together, but further away my nose and lips seem bunched together and almost 'pig-like'. There is a shadow under the nose that shortens the space even further visually. My nose wings are also more noticeable now despite not being altered in surgery (I think the scar around the nose adds to this problem).
Physical Result
Resting face: I have that dopey, mouth-breather look now (I'll use the actor out of the 'Napoleon Dynamite' film for reference.
Mouth closed: my lower lip joins up to where my upper lip has been raised to so my chin looks bigger and like an overbite. My jaw and teeth need to be shut tightly and mouth pouted slightly for the lips to look okay, which is not a natural action for the face unconsciously or consciously.
Side profile: not good at all. The upper lip looks non existent because it falls in under and behind my bottom lip and the cheeks/jowels look bigger and droopier. Overall, grumpier looking and again, like I have an overbite without there being one.
Smile: I now hate smiling in photos and used to be told I had a great smile before this. I'm very self-conscious about it now as it shows too much teeth and some gum and makes my upper lip disappear completely. Unless it's a selfie, I never know how far up my lip and philtrum are going. I'm now looking into botox to help with reducing this action or lip repositioning surgery (inner skin reduced to stop lips moving up too much) if botox isn't enough. ?These are both procedures for gummy smiles which is something I never had. I have great teeth that had orthodontic treatment with normal sized gums. My gums don't show too much as I was probably the opposite of gummy looking before this but the roots of my teeth do show now and that along with the short philtrum doesn't look good.
I am also considering reduction of my nose wings or nose tip reduction even more so now as the lip lift has made them more obvious and bigger looking on my face.
Along with jawline fillers, jowel reduction and chin refinement procedures to try bring that area back into a good allignment with the middle facial procedures.
Emotional opinion:
Overall, I have ruined my own confidence and no longer feel attractive like I once did. Although in one way the lip lift has made one small aspect better (a closed -mouthed smile sometimes), I have made my overall face less attractive and no longer have a good smile when teeth show - natural or put on for photos.
I would consider going back to Dr Osuch to help alleviate the lip lift effect because I think he is a good surgeon who did neat work. I would consider him for nose tip correction and jawline and chin refinement to do this as lip lifts are irreversible but I don't see any patient reviews or photos for these procedures yet, only lip lifts. I wouldn't rush into procedures though as there is no going back. I'm afraid of adding to this real dislike even more now. I don't think I was pushed into it at all but I really don't think this procedure is for everyone. There is a reason why it isn't as common as other procedures.
?If you are getting a lip lift, I think Dr. Osuch is a great choice. Think very carefully about it though as there is no way of correcting it. I would be very cautious about how many milimetres are taken.
I am now going down a path looking to alter other areas to try and lessen the look of my lip lift. I now have an odd smile and only do it in selfies sometimes when I can control opening my lips only slightly as it shows too much of the teeth roots and minimises top lip a lot and angle the camera as to diminish the shadow under my nose.
Scar:
The scar tends to add to the wing and nostril size emphasis I mentioned. The stitches were quite neat and were in as best a place as they could be (along the nostril crease).
They were quite bumpy though and as soon as I move my face in a way that stretches that area, the scars become noticeable. Makeup tends to sit weirdly into the grooves of the scar or not at all. You really have to work concealer in to get your scar covered but it will still have grooves.
However, last year, microneedling helped reduced the look of the scar and redness. It also finally stopped the itching in the scar that was ongoing for 3+ years. I finally feel like I can choose not to have to put makeup on it.
Microneedling wasn't as known a few years ago as it is now but it has helped the bumps, redness, and itchiness after just two treatments. Covid delayed treatments but I'll get more microneedling and I'm hoping it heals the scar despite it being 4 years old now. Microneedling soon after treatment might really help a new patient.
Review:
I would give Dr Osuch's consultation 3/5 . Do lots of research yourself and have lots of questions ready beforehand. I would remember that even though he is a doctor, we are all human and one might have a different idea of what is attractive for your face. If in doubt, don't do it or agree to less millimetres taken. (Amount taken is decided on the day of surgery with you).
Don't dismiss that there will be scars. The prospect of scars didn't seem to be something that one would have a problem with in his discussion.
I don't think I was the right candidate for this. Maybe having dental braces in my initial email correspondance veered Dr. Osuch into thinking I was.
Side note: the email correspondance prior to this was friendly,  helpful, and communicative.
Procedure: 4/5
It was done well and neatly. Dr Osuch put me at ease before starting. He double-checked the mm amount with me, too - it's just very hard to tell what amount is a good choice. He is very professional, aproachable, and friendly.
Lip lift itself as a procedure in general: 2/5
Really take your time in committing to doing this. It can be a very odd look on the wrong candidate. I was too excited by it and a bit impulsive. Booking it while still having braces was probably my mistake. I didn't have time to realise the look of my face and mouth looked best in the short time between getting braces off and getting surgery. I wish I was shown how far up my lips would go when smiling or in facial expressions, if possible.
If you are getting it though, Dr Osuch is your man and be very conservative with your choice of amount taken off.
If there is a photo app where you can pull up just the centre of your phitrum above your two front teeth, please use it.
