Dr Omer faik sagun rhinoplasty review

Hello all. I thought I would write a little about Dr omer faik sagun based in Istanbul.
I have now completed and at this period up to one year and 5 months post op. I will keep it brief and if you have any questions feel free to msg. The whole process to me has been up and down. I can certainly state that they down play everything, keep it all vague and almost feels like your number on. Data sheet for the most part.

After organising everything and arriving in Turkey, I'm a pretty organised traveller so I managed to book an amazing place very close by to the hospital. The office itself was easy to get to the building but finding the actual office inside the building was insane. It's a rented office inside a building of offices which well over 500 offices. The lack of information was crazy. It does have all the bells and whistles, looks really nice as you would expect with the Turkish interior design work.

First day I had to go hospital to get blood taken etc they DO NOT mention that you have to pay for all this which is separate to the surgery cost. luckily I bought money with me on the day as it was only in my mind a quick blood sample and be out.

The next day (surgery day) you arrive early at his office as the schedule was to get to the office, pay for the surgery, take before pics, consultation with the surgeon, from there go to the hospital (different locations) and go for surgery. All in the same day...

When you go to the office very nice but also he had about 10 people all sat down waiting to see him. If you are scheduled to see him for a time expect to be sat there for a min of one hour waiting. I was taken down eventually for pictures. Then right after taken into the accounts room. They just smacked a paper on the table which the remaining balance to be paid. Now the key part here is I have not even seen the surgeon, spoke about what he can or cannot do, my questions being answered nothing. I paid my deposit prior to arrive but was told I had to pay remaining before I am to see him. Which is where they get you as I can't lie after meeting him I came out insanely nervous and insanely on edge. I'll explain...

Once you pay that it, non refundable as they purposely do it all on the same day and don't let you see him as once you pay they say money is for the hospital hire beds labour etc which is too late to back out now as it's all been booked. Finally after payment I got to meet him. This was all insanelyyyy rushed! I'd say I spoke to him for nothing more than 7-8 minutes. I explained my fears, what I didn't want, he showed me a horrific computerised version of what my nose could look like. You can understand with a live changing surgery and hours away from going in it's not the best start. His English was broken and sometimes he couldn't understand what I was saying. His English on his videos are way better, he also might of improved since doing London consultations. Side note There is a huge element of fake it till you make it. When I first found him he had 28k followers on instagram, when I came up to surgery date which was 5 months difference he was 250k or so. You only have to look his likes which averages 200 per post to know they are fake. He has bought his verified blue tick too.

Getting to the hospital was a headache as they all have the same name but different hospitals for different needs. Makes no sense.

Fast forward to post surgery I felt like a train hit me! I was so confused as you would after anaesthetics. Another part they fail to mention is the healing down time. I honestly felt it was the hardest thing I have ever done!! I have a huge pain tolerance too. But the pain wasn't pain it was the irritation. First 24 hours you have to keep two eye packs on your eyes for 30 mins on 10 mins off for 24 hours!!!!!

My nose had gauges inside both so swallowing even salvia would shut your ears up as if you were on a plane. (This is the same for the next 7 days while you have gauges on). When 24 hours was done they came in which medication that I had to again pay for then and there 24 hours post surgery. Then they give you a list of what to get from the pharmacy... why they don't make you get this before you go in I have no idea!! Again pay for yourself.

I was pretty much rushed off and told any issues WhatsApp us. Anytime you ask them anything literally anything your told "this is perfectly normal" over and over again. For the next 7 days it was insanely hard. Hard to sleep, hard to swallow, hard to eat. Depression for sure hit and guilt. They say you'll be fine to go out after a couple day trust me your not. I only got out after the 5th day and even then very head lost.

Fast forward 7 days I went to the office and again was scheduled to go in at 10am wasn't seen till 11:15. Once seen he took my gauge off and i almost died in the chair (not literally). Seeing the state of my nose as I only later found out the pig nose look is normal post op and will last for 2 months or so before tip drops. They could have warned me but again they down play every single thing as they should to not freak you out but at least prepare you.

Now fast forward month down the line I had the worst breaking problems. Always felt stuffed, again kept getting told perfectly normal. One year on nose is taken shape and I can't lie I wasn't happy for the first 9 months but after the one year mark still not healed as tip is still solid asf! But the shape and everything looks amazing, he doesn't lie about his style. He really does give you a nose that people won't notice. No one noticed anything around me, including my parents. The dark circles which has only started to get a little better in the last2 months are the only give away. Now that's the ascetics part. For function honestly it's been the hardest parts breathing is like breaking from a straw and my taste is at 25%. Again keep getting told perfectly normal for about a year. Lately I'm being told it's a me a problem... stating that it could be from my recovery.

Cut the long story short, was it worth it? Yes and no. He's good at what he does, but that's look wise. Function I'm yet to find out as recovery takes up to 4 years. As for his process I wasn't treated like he knew or would remember me again a number on sheet. Spent 1 week and 2 days there and he changed my nose and I only got to meet him for 7 minutes to discuss lol.

Any questions shoot me a msg.
