I’m 3 weeks post op and very happy with how my nose is looking and healing. My biggest issue has been a facial cellulitis (I acquired a skin infection post op at an area of contact dermatitis) that’s has healed, but I still have an area of broken skin under my left eye that’s healing. My nose healing has been a dream in comparison! I’m still getting used to looking at my nose, but I get more used to it each day, & am happy with the changes Dr Imani has made. He made all the improvements we discussed, changing the aspects I disliked, while markedly improving my function. My nose is still slightly tender to touch when I’m washing my face or massaging my nose, though I wouldn’t call it painful. My tip is rock hard, though I expected that as I read that happens in many reviews from Rhinoplasty patients. All in all, very happy with how things are looking so far. Will update again in a few weeks.

Post op - Day 8
Today I finally got the itchy AF cast off!
Dr Imani has done a great job.
Be prepared though, when the cast comes off, you will be in abit of shock and probably have a ‘wtf’ moment (which I fully expected because Dr Imani tells you most people will have those feelings, and from reading other peoples experiences).
It is definitely worth it - I can breathe 1000% better and he gave me an aesthetically nice nose. It initially feels like a drastic change though, only because you are so used to what you usually look like, so your immediate reaction thinks it looks strange or overdone. Which is not the case at all - you essentially have to acclimatise to what you initially perceive as a foreign nose on your face. It’s quite a bizarre feeling.
But my partner, my mum, and girlfriends all think it looks great and not overdone aswell, I still totally look like me, so that’s definitely reassuring! Even with stitches and some swelling still present, they say it is a great but subtle improvement, and like I’ve always had this nose. I’m already getting used to it.
Dr Imani is great. He’s amazing at what he does (so do try to remember that when you get your cast off - he knows aesthetics better than you and what suits your face) and he’s very reassuring all your feelings are normal. From reading other peoples experiences I expected it. You still don’t feel prepared though.
Dr said some people even cry for a few days, wondering if they’ve done the right thing etc etc, but once people go through the adjustment stage, they love it.
I definitely don’t dislike it at all - it’s a lovely nose! It’s just sooooo weird looking at yourself and seeing somebody else’s nose on your face. For me it was more an ‘unreal’ bizarre feeling more then anything else.
The only issues I’ve had, which is seperate to my nose that is healing really great - is I have developed a small area of skin on my cheek under my right eye that is very swollen, inflamed and possibly a minor skin infection. I think I must have got abit of contact dermatitis from the tape, and then possibly scratched my face there in my sleep causing a really swollen, itchy area of skin. Dr Imani has started me on antibiotics just in case, and I will revisit him again in a week. My jaw & TMJ are still abit sore from the anaesthetic I think, and from not doing a lot of chewing. But I’m sure that will settle with time.
I still have a lot of visible stitches, so hoping that if they haven’t fallen out by my next revisit, he may be able to remove them.
My nose itself is feeling better each day. My breathing just gets better, congestion is nearly gone and my sinus flushes are becoming less and less productive each time.
