Dr Hassan F?nd?k Negligence After Tummy Tuck Surgery

I am an Australian resident who traveled to Turkey to undergo a tummy tuck surgery with Dr. Hasan F?nd?k. After the operation, no proper postoperative wound examination was performed. At no point did the surgeon assess whether the incision was healing correctly or whether there were signs of infection.

Exactly one week after the surgery, on a Friday night around 10 p.m., my wound suddenly burst open due to a severe chronic infection. The stitches completely opened, heavy bleeding started, and I experienced intense abdominal pain. I contacted the doctor’s assistant, who in turn contacted the doctor. His only advice was to apply multiple bandages to stop the bleeding. Despite my condition being an emergency, no urgent medical care was offered. Instead, I was given an appointment to see him on Monday afternoon — three days after the wound had already opened.

When I finally saw him, the wound was severely infected, deeply inflamed, with redness and discoloration. He only cleaned the wound superficially and told me to return to Australia. I was in a critical condition and genuinely felt that my life was in danger, yet there was no sense of responsibility or urgency shown.

During my flight back to Australia, the wound ruptured again due to the severe infection, causing heavy bleeding mid-flight. Upon landing in Sydney, I was taken directly from the airport to the hospital by ambulance. I was hospitalized for one week, underwent emergency surgery to save my life, and required a vacuum drainage device attached to my abdomen for two weeks to remove the infection. As a result, I lost part of my abdominal skin and muscle, I lost my navel, and I am now left with permanent abdominal deformities.

I endured all of this due to doctors negligence and lack of care. I am fortunate to live in a medically advanced country like Australia, which saved my life. Had I been a patient from a less developed country, I firmly believe I would not be alive today.
