Dr. Ella Is Perfect for Professional Women/Men and Working Moms Like Me for Botox and Fillers. My Experience Has Been A+++

I’m a woman lawyer and a mom of 3 kids in their 20s, and I started seeing Dr. Ella 11 years ago when I was in my early 50s and wanted to stave off the effects of aging, look good for court but not look overdone or frozen and for heaven’s sake, no apple cheeks or overdone lips.

How did I find her? My woman gynecologist who knows all the best doctors and gives me the doctors’ doctor referrals told me she’s “an injection artist” and that a lot of woman doctors go to her. As a trial lawyer who tries cases before juries and speaks nationally (which is filmed) I just wanted to look 10 years younger if possible and maintain it and not be afraid of cameras - lol. I’m also a mom and don’t want to look like I’m posing for Instagram pics. Dr. Ella totally got what I was looking for. She’s also a mom.

Dr. Ella is also a great, interesting and kind person to be around—apart from being a smart knowledgeable doctor who is actually a good listener (unlike some docs). She is so calm and mild mannered and doesn’t flaunt an ego that you’d never know that she has traveled almost everywhere in the world, including some of the most amazing places I’d never even heard of to explore nature. So if you love to travel and go see her, ask her for travel ideas on special places or tips or about her last trip. I have a hairdresser friend who goes to her, and she and her doctor husband gave him an amazing idea for his honeymoon, which he followed. Okay that’s bonus stuff — but for me I have to have a personal connection with the doctor and trust. This is why I mention this. I don’t feel like a number at her office. Some people may not care and they just want to go in and out. I want someone who gets to know me and understands me a bit.

And she does all the work herself. No nurses like what I found in a well known BHills plastic surgeon’s office since the dr wanted to just do surgeries since as he told me “that’s where I make the real money.” So, I appreciate that Dr. Ella’s not a plastic surgeon trying to upsell me on surgeries or tell me how for what I spend on injections over 10 years I can pay for a facelift (which is not really true). But then that dr admitted that even if I got a facelift, he’d still want me to get Botox and injections from his nurse. Go figure.

I’m not afraid of getting older and want these to be the best years of my life, but I don’t like looking older than how I feel— which is high energy. Dr. Ella heard me and came up with a plan: regular Botox to smooth out lines and crows feet and prevent them from forming, smart use of fillers (Juvederm and Radiasse) to replace some lost volume, IPL to keep the aging/sun spots and discoloration away and improve texture with some other procedures here and there —and it has worked out well. She’s also preventative—reminds me to keep a solid daily sunscreen regime (face, neck and hands even if I’m in the office or in court) and face care routine (but no hard sell of products in her office, which is refreshing. )

This little vignette will give you an idea how she talks to patients and how I remember something she said from 11 years ago. We all know the sun’s not our skin’s friend - but I wasn’t using sunscreen every day as I was going to work or to court. So when I was 51, she reminded me that UVA/UVB comes through office and car windows all day long and during walks outside even in the winter. Dr. Ella said “Tracy, think about what would happen if you use sunscreen EVERY day for the next 20 years — how do you think your skin will look at 71 when it’s spared the sun’s radical damage?” That stuck in my head and I always have sunscreen in my purse and car just in case I didn’t put it on before I left the house. And I love the long-term thinking as well— it’s so positive. And she screens me for skin cancer on my face and décolleté (which most “medical spa” don’t). Ella’s skin looks perfect of course. Mine will never look as good as hers, but she’s helped me make it look a lot better.

I book every 4 months and Dr. Ella never ever oversells and actually talks me out of more when it’s not needed. Now I've missed an appointment here and there but it’s easy for me to keep appointments since she’s got some weekday evenings and Saturdays appts available. I really don’t want to leave the office for a couple of hours in the middle of the day (that costs me more $) or have to cancel last minute due to an office emergency.

I believe in supporting and empowering other women and being honest in that almost everyone you see over 50 who looks “great” has had surgery or is getting regular aesthetic medicine treatments or both. I didn’t want surgery. Maybe I’ll get it in the next 10 years but for now I am happy to invest in a regular sensible routine, especially when I have Dr. Ella who’s an artist at injections and who I trust. When I get complimented on looking good, I let other women know: yes I get Botox and injections, it’s part of my maintenance— and it’s an investment in myself—like a quality haircut and color. We all know there’s ageism out there, especially for women. So this isn’t just vanity, I frankly think it’s needed for my career and makes good business sense . Companies and clients will hire a man who looks like a grandfather, but don’t want to hire a grandmother. But I’ll say, I’m seeing more and more men in her office now as they’re also under more pressure to look good and youthful now. And hey, this is LA even though I’m not in the biz.

Anyway, whatever you do don’t pick your Dr based on a TikTok video or from an Instagram influencer who’s getting paid or from advertisements. Most magazine articles about doctors are PR placements—so it’s hard to know what to trust. Think about it, those clinics that spend all that money on marketing are not spending it on genuine product or the best staff.

I wanted to leave this review as a way to show my gratitude to Dr. Ella (who doesn’t advertise or hire IG influencers) because I am truly appreciative of her high quality aesthetic medical treatment and the genuine interest and kindness she’s shown me (even when I’ve shown up in her office in a horrible mood after a bad day with a black cloud over my head). I wanted this review to reflect some of her style and personality so others could see if it’s a good fit for them. She also treats women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s — and I sent my 32-year-old niece to Dr. Ella who was thrilled with the results on the lip injection she received.

I read some of the other reviews and when they insist that a certain doctor is the “best” or #1 it’s hype. Los Angeles is very large and there are at least 20 or more high quality doctors over LA who practice aesthetic medicine. Dr. Ella is one of those 20. The key is finding a doctor who fits your personality and serves your needs, and staying away from the doctors and medical spa clinics that use inexperienced nurses (or people who were nurses in another country and are not here) where you never see a doctor, and the ones who charge cheap prices because they are likely using illegally imported or fake Botox or injectables because those products are expensive.

To end my long lawyer-mom review, Dr. Ella has helped me maintain a healthy, natural look that makes me look 8-10 years younger and makes me feel more confident. And I trust her 100 percent.
To anyone reading this, good luck in finding the right doctor for you!
