How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Day 4: Post-op

Still lots of pain, swelling and bruising. Doc removed the drain tubes today. I had seven (one in each arm above the elbow, one in each knee, one in each side of groin, and one in the middle of lower back).
It was a quick but painful process. Now I’m bandaged up and started taking Motrin today ... weaning off the narcotic pain killers and muscle relaxants.
Walking, sitting, standing, and using the toilet are huge challenges. We don’t realize how valuable our core muscles are until we can’t use them. That’s for sure.
Doc says walk more (for speedy drainage and to help get my body back to normal activities).

3 days post-op

Still in pain, and taking pain meds and muscle relaxants every 5 hours. Also on antibiotics (to ward off infection) and vitamin K (to help with bruising and soreness). Doc also recommended Arnica (for soreness and bruising related to trauma).

Drains are still in but fluids are much less today than on any other day post-op.

I’m able to carefully and slowly get out of bed on my own and go to the bathroom, but I still need help getting back IN bed...the bed is kinda high up from the floor. I’m getting a step stool today to help with this.

I’ve been eating as much s possible, as the doc recommended that I “feed the fat”.

Day 2: Post-op

The left photo is one of the Before Pics. The right photo was taken on the OR table after surgery. I’ll post more as I can move around more and remove bandages to look at what’s happening. Still in lots of pain as of Day 2 Post-op.
