Where to begin on how wonderful Dr. Joel Beck is! WHY MY REVIEW IS CREDIBLE: I worked for a top female plastic surgeon in silicon valley for 2 years so you can consider my review to be a credible source because I know a thing or two about surgery and I've had some work done myself. WHEN I FIRST MET DR.BECK: I can only speak on the procedure that Dr. Joel Beck did on me and that being the Brazilian Butt fat transfer. Before I decided to go forward with Dr. Beck I did a lot of research, consulted with girlfriends of mine who had this same procedure done else where (LA and Miami) and I wasn't very convinced. First of all I must say I got pretty lucky because I had a cousin of mine do the Brazilian butt fat transfer first with Dr. Beck, so I already knew what to expect to a certain degree. The word of mouth referral came from close family member so I was able to see her progress frequently. I felt more confident and compelled to go forward after seeing my cousin jump back to her normal activities (with minor restrictions) after 3 weeks. I decided to make my first consult with Dr. Beck in February of 2016. My first impression when I walked in the office was how beautifully it was decorated, super modern and clean. I was greeted by Ashely one of the front desk receptionist and offered to help my self to water, tea or coffee at the stand to the right of the office. I waited for less than 7 min when I was called and back to consult with Dr.Beck. Within the first 3 minutes of meeting Dr. Beck I felt very comfortable and relaxed, I was able to talk to him about my insecurities and what I was looking to improve aesthetically. He answered all the concerns and questions I had with confidence. After my consult, he patiently showed me before and afters of other patients with similar body shapes to mine. It didn't take long for me to pay my deposit and schedule my appointment. THE DAY OF MY SURGERY: Having plastic wasn't my first rodeo as I've had a few other procedures such as breast aug and rhinoplasty (with different Dr's). Either way I was nervous but excited at the same time. 45 min prior to surgery Dr. Beck came in the the room where the nurses were prepping me and went through the procedure all over again, answered my questions and lighted me up with his great sense of humor. The anesthesiologist also came and introduced himself and explained to me what to expect when being sedated. I quickly was out cold and all I remember is telling them about my plans after surgery and I woke up with a new body. I stayed over night at the recovery room with nurses taking care of me and monitoring my recovery. Dr. Beck called me that night to check on me and came by first thing in the morning to discharge me. Dr. Beck is a very attentive and professional Doctor. RECOVERY: I must say the first week was pretty hard for me as I had to sleep on my belly and I normally sleep laying straight back. Not being able to sit on my butt was a challenge (crucial as most of the fat cells don't survive after being transferred, so keeping pressure off your bumm is very important) AFTER RECOVERY: Overall its hard to remember now at 8 months later since my surgery if it was painful or not because I'm so happy with my results. I wish I would have done this sooner. I'm so happy with my body. Reality is a women store more fat around the abdomen area as we are biologically born to create off springs and the offsprings need fat to expand in the wound freely. So in order to have a nice bubble butt and a flat tummy without living day and night at the gym and being on strict diet , is surgery. Reality is a normal person doesn't have the time to live in the gym and a normal person should be able to indulge from time to time in good food. Not only that but a persons metabolism really slows down after 24-25 (my age) So its that much harder to have a certain shape. Some people will argue that all it takes is hard work and a good diet blah blah blah .... yea but why not let science help a little.... WHY DR.BECK? I have had GF of my mine who did this procedure with supposably (the best surgeons in LA and Miami) My two gf who did it in Miami had horrible experience with recovery in addition to ugly marks and scar tissue from the harsh liposuction, yea they thought they were saving a couple thousand dollars but if you took into account flights, hotel and after care it ended up costing the same. It cost the same but with a lot more hassel and not the desired results. My gf who did it in LA paid a ridiculous amount of money and most of her fat didn't survive so it was as she just did lipo. If you are in North cali or bay area or anywhere in California Dr. Joel Beck is the only Dr who is a master at this particular type of procedure. It takes a strong man to have the hands to liposuction, and it takes a Dr with a lot of experience (DR.Beck does this procedure regularly, its second nature to him) He stands at like 6'4, is young, full of life and strong. His credentials are just a fraction of why you should choose him. You want to go with a doctor who does the procedure your interested in frequently as he has the most experience. EXPERIENCE IS KEY when selecting any DR. I love Dr. Becks office because its a one stop shop for all my cosmetic maintenance, my fillers, facials, injectables (they do it all) I hope this review was useful to any one interested in having Dr. Beck as their surgeon.
