20 Month Update - Heading Back for Part 2!
Apologies for the long delay since the last update. I’d planned on returning in December 2020 to finish the crown, as Dr. Acar wasn’t able to do it all in one shot, without risking the safety of the donor area.
The upside is that it’s REALLY grown in. Over the spring, so like 18 months out from surgery is when the difference is the starkest. No one has any idea that I’ve done this and are absolutely shocked if I tell them, because it looks sooooo natural.
These photos were taken a couple days ago for my assessment for this December, the appointment and flights for which I’m currently confirming.
Guys, if your hairline bothers you and you’ve got a few grand burning a hole in your pocket, just do it. You look and feel younger. My whole outlook on how the world perceives me has changed - and I’d already I’d a fairly healthy self-esteem. Don’t let anyone share you into wanting to improve your own aesthetic by cosmetic and/or surgical methods. Do what’s best for yourself and let the haters squwak.

Six Months Post-Op: WOW!!
So here we are, six months out from the procedure and hair growth has really accelerated since my last update, particularly in the last six weeks or so. What surprises me is that this is apparently only about 50% of the expected growth - I’m thrilled with this result, so I can’t wait to see what the coming months bring.
One thing that I am certain about is that I will be returning to have the crown filled in. It is unfortunate that I required note grafts than they would safely do, even in a two-day session. But Dr. Acar said that I have a strong enough donor area, plus available body hair that I can return for the additional 2,500 grafts required to fill in the crown.
That said, it really feels like I’ve lost more hair in the crown, but that may be a function of perspective when viewed with the coniferous forest now growing in front of it!
Next update in three months.

3 Months Post-Op
Although it’s actually four months out, the first five photos were taken at the three month mark. Photo six was taken last week and wow, the growth phase has definitely started! Imma have a big, beefy front-fro due to coronavirus shutting down all of the barbers.
One thing that is becoming more apparent is my need to return to finish the crown. I needed more grafts than was safely available in one session, so I will head back probably this for next year.
