So thrilled with my results, and so happy with my eyes
ORIGINAL POST
Absolutely Amazing!
WORTH IT
I had such a great experience with Dr. Kwon and his team!!! I've had a handful of consultations with surgeons around the area (Beverly Hills, Newport, LA, SD), but no surgeon/practice has really made me feel comfortable enough to proceed. That all changed when I was referred to Dr. Kwon and his Patient Coordinator, Lilit. Lilit is honestly one of the best of the best. She's caring, and beautiful inside and out. Lilit set the consultation up, and emailed me some paperwork to fill out prior meeting the surgeon.
My concerns:
I was born with monolids, and have had suture method done 10 years ago for double eyelids. 10 years and 2 babies later, I felt like my eyelids were drooping again, and getting very heavy. I would always have to wear eye makeup or have eyelash extensions or I would look very "tired".
Day of consultation:
I went to their Newport Beach location and it's located in a plaza with easy parking access. Their office is so beautiful and clean! During the consultation, Dr. Kwon was very thorough on explaining the procedure, took a measurement of my eyes, and showed me what my eyelids would look like after surgery. After the consultation (roughly 30 minutes), I decided to book.
Prepping for surgery:
Lilit went through the pre/post care for upper blepharoplasty, set my surgery date/time, and also suture removal date. To summarize: eat healthy, eat less salt/spicy foods, and drink a lot of pineapple juice.
During surgery:
I was soooooooooo nervous the day of surgery, but I think it was because I was overly excited. Dr. Kwon marked my eyes and explained to me where he would be removing excess skin, fat, and forming double eyelid fixation. The nurses inserted an IV, and I was happy as a clam. It felt like I had just stepped out of hot yoga, and had two glasses of wine. All my nerves went away, and I was just relaxed. The surgery was fairly quick, and in and out of surgery in around 1.5 hours. Pain level was 2/10. The only painful part was when he injected the lidocaine, but honestly it wasn't so bad.
Post surgery:
I actually went back to work the same day (not recommended but doable).. and I was swollen. The first 3 days were the most swollen, then after the third day, swelling went away quickly. My sutures were removed 8 days later, and everything looked really good besides my scar! I was freaking out because there were bumps, but Lilit and Dr. Kwon ensured everything will be okay and I just needed time to heal. I had no choice but to trust the process, and 6 months later.. I am SO thrilled with my results, and am so happy with my eyes! I no longer have to wear heavy eye makeup or eyelash extensions to look awake. I will post my recovery process to share. If you're looking for a great plastic surgeon, you just found him!!!! Thank you Dr. Kwon and Lilit!!!! You guys are the best.
