Revisional Double Eyelid Surgery at Thankyou Plastic Surgery in Seoul
Background:
I had non-incisional double eyelid surgery 7 years ago from a well known clinic. I was never satisfied with the results as my eyelids did not come out symmetrical. I feel like the stitching may have come undone at some point last year as my eyes became more noticeably uneven.
Selecting a clinic:
I researched different clinics online via social media, forums, reviews, etc and messaged a handful of them via whatsapp.
I advised of my situation and that my preference would be to only have revisional surgery on the one eye. Thank You Plastic Surgery was the only clinic that was confident it would be possible hence I decided to book with Thank you, specifically with Dr. KIM based on his experience I've learned about and all the positive reviews.
Consultation:
When I arrived, the clinic was pretty busy and I did have to wait awhile.
I spoke with a few staff before hand and had my photos taken. Everyone was kind and helpful. Chloe who I spoke with via whatsapp for the online consultation was my translator. She was with me the whole way and was supportive.
After the initial steps were completed, I had a consultation with Dr. Kim.
Symmetry was my biggest concern with the revisional surgery to the point where I mentioned it every other sentence. Dr. Kim was very through during the consultation, was very patient with me and never rushed me to make a decision on the procedure. He patiently responded to my concerns even if I was repeating myself. He gave me clear and realistic and provided me any and all information I needed to make a decision on my own. His confidence in himself and his work provided me a lot of comfort that he was the right doctor.
My final decision was to do non-incisional double eye lid surgery on both eyes in order to do ptosis correction on both eyes.
Surgery Day
Surgery day went smoothly. Again a bit of a wait in the beginning. Dr. Kim saw me one more time to confirm the final design, then it was off to surgery.
Post-Op
I can't speak to the surgery itself as I had general anesthesia, but there was only slight discomfort to my eyes due to swelling after surgery.
The swelling and brusing was mostly gone after 2.5 weeks. However, now at 4 weeks, my eyes are still slightly swollen, but not too bad. The lines look clean and symmetrical, so I am confident the result will be exactly what I wanted.
