Double eyelid surgery

I don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review. I had double eyelid surgery with Dr Taghva about two years ago, and had an excellent experience from start to finish. She was detail oriented, understood the nuances involved in Asian aesthetic surgery, and took the time to explain what I could expect. She was never rushed and always took the time to check on my healing. The surgery experience was smooth, and even though I was super nervous about being "awake" for the procedure, her staff put me at ease.
In contrast to my rhinoplasty experience where was surrounded by men from start to finish I appreciated that her office and surgery center staff were all women. The environment was clean and comfortable, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. My results were natural and fit my features nicely, and most of my asian friends can't even tell I had double eyelid surgery because my scars are so thin. My experience with my blepharoplasty led me to do lipo here about a year and a half later, so feel free to check out my review on that as well.
FYI to anyone going through the recovery process, my eyes were super swollen the first two weeks as you can see from the photos. The first two months they would still be puffy, especially when I woke up in the morning, so don't be alarmed if you're experiencing that. They continued to settle, looked great at the 6 month mark, and seemed to lay super flat by the 9-10 month mark. I used Biocorneum religiously, especially in the summer because it has SPF in it. It's a surgery I would do again, and I love how even my eyes are now. Eyeliner is no longer a struggle, and I never have to worry about waking up with one double lid and one single lid.

Looks beautiful! ☺️ Did you also have medial epicanthoplasty as well?

Think about long term results

So as an update now that I’m fully healed - I wish I had gone 1 mm less than I did, and went with a tapered crease rather than a parallel crease. Looking back at when I got this surgery, I was still trying to assimilate with western culture by going larger. As I’ve matured, I do wish I had gone more natural as Dr Taghva had suggested. Still happy with my results, but overall I wish I had the appreciation for my heritage at the time to stick with something very subtle. Food for thought if you’re considering this procedure.

i think your eyes look great from what you've shared. you didn't lose any of the asian features you speak of and your defined high crease is beautiful.

Your eyes look beautiful. Just curious, why did you leave a 1 star review and "not worth it" when your reviews are positive? I was expecting a scathing review
