Double eyelid surgery

I cannot recommend Dr Taghva in good conscience. I learned from other doctors that the muscle in both of my eyes was cut, so my eye lid can no longer close all the way. Now I double/triple blink constantly and it’s pretty much a worst case scenario as someone in a field where your face and demeanor result in how much people trust you and how much they want to work with you. I have gone through multiple dry eye treatments , received punctual plugs, and am no longer eligible for lasik because my eyes won’t close fully and I have chronic dry eye. I strongly recommend you reconsider this procedure and how it may impact the rest of your life.

So as an update now that I’m fully healed - I wish I had gone 1 mm less than I did, and went with a tapered crease rather than a parallel crease. Looking back at when I got this surgery, I was still trying to assimilate with western culture by going larger. As I’ve matured, I do wish I had gone more natural as Dr Taghva had suggested. Still happy with my results, but overall I wish I had the appreciation for my heritage at the time to stick with something very subtle. Food for thought if you’re considering this procedure.
