Excited to Play with my New Eyes Soon!

My mother had monolids and had double eye lid surgery in her 40s many years ago in Vietnam. She told me I should get it one day. But I've always been into natural beauty. I didn't even think about getting double eyelid surgery until two months ago. I've never thought that my eyes were beautiful, they were a little on the small side (compared to my Vietnamese friends) and uneven, but I accepted them. What really bugged me recently was that I saw there was more excess skin on the folds. I started browsing real self and was amazed at some of the eyes transformation. I loved how Dr. Goretti Ho Taghva had so many samples of eyes that were similar to mine. I wanted someone that operates on Asian eyes regularly.
I liked how close she was to Utah. I decided that it didn't hurt to schedule a free consultation. I was amazed in the consultation to find out that I had ptosis. My whole life I have had to lift my forehead to have my eyes open bigger. I didn't know that it was something that could get corrected. I scheduled two other consultation so I could compare. One gave me a price quote that was $700 more than Dr. Taghva, another one was $2000 more because she was a oculoplastic surgeon. I choose Dr. Taghva because I of the good samples she had that was similar to my eyes and she had excellent reviews. My consultation with her was on Skype, she seemed really nice and said she would try to balance my eyes more but it wouldn't be perfect since my eyes weren't symmetrical in the first place. On the day of the surgery, she said my eyebrows were higher one one side than the other, one eye was longer than the other, but she would do her best to make them more balanced. It scared me a little bit to see that there was a lot more skin being removed on the left eye than the right eye and the curve she drew were not the same, but I trusted her expertise and the before and after pictures I saw from her past surgeries.

I flew in to get the surgery done, and few out the next day. I had my cousin in Brea take me to the surgery. Then I flew in again yesterday to get my stitches remove tomorrow. I will update the pictures regularly since I found it really helped me to see others at similar stages as me.

I would say I probably have a slower recovery than others. I have been taking 500 MG Bromelain & Arnica. After the surgery, I felt so much pressure on my eyes. I kept icing my eyes but it was really cold. My eyes have been changing everyday. It's looking more balanced each day that passes, I freaked out the first night since they looked so different. Dr. Taghva called at night and I missed her call but I didn't want to bother her with questions like that since I've seen quite a few reviews on real self and the eyes all heal unevenly. I had never hurt my eyes before, was shocked to see each passing day how the inflammation would move from one area of the face to another.

Had stitches removed 2 days ago

I'm on day 11th after surgery. Seems like my eyes have started feeling much better after stitches have been removed. I think because I had ptosis surgery so my lids are still very swollen. The pressure on top of my eyes are decreasing each day.

Btw, I thought my recovery was slow, but Dr. Taghva said my recovery is really good. I had never had a bruise on my face before in my whole life, had no idea that bruises move around to other parts of the face. I usually workout at least 5x a week, but I'm obeying orders not to workout for 2 weeks.

Day 21 Update

sunshine11309
It's been almost 3 weeks since the surgery. I'm very happy with my eyes each day that passes. The pressure from opening my eyes are not as bad like it was before. I stopped taking Arnica today since I ran out, and still have 1/2 a bottle of Bromelain to take and will finish the bottle.

Can't believe how much more depth my eyes have with the double eye lid in. I put on fake eyelashes and it looks so much more natural now. So I still see a bigger gap in my lid on my left eye vs. my right eye. I see why the doctor made the bigger gap. My left eye is smaller than my right eye so if she puts the same gap it will be very obvious that they are unsymmetrical. This way, I just have to add more eyeliner on my left eye to balance it out more. I think it helps to have an experienced surgeon that have done my type of eyes. I haven't contacted Dr. Taghva since the stitch removal date. She was really nice, honest and personable. It helps to have the web. I've been kinda obsessed with looking at other people's pictures and reviews of eye lid surgery. I'm very happy with the results. I'm glad the crease height is getting smaller each day. I was starting to worry that the crease height was too high. I think it will took perfect in 2 years after all the swelling is gone.

I started jumping on the elliptical at 2 1/2 weeks. I didn't feel any difference after exercising. I didn't really try to push myself really hard either.
