I've been waiting to write a review because I...

I've been waiting to write a review because I wanted to use the before and after pictures from the clinic to show. I only took 2 or 3 myself but I stopped, I didn't want to drive myself crazy by seeing pictures of my bruised body :-)

Before I decided to go with Dr Ajaka, who is a cosmetic surgeon, I had 2 consultations with 2 plastic surgeons. They both strongly suggested the best results for me would be to have a tummy tuck, because of how much fat I had on my lower belly and the fact that the skin would in the very likelihood not be able to retract successfully thus leaving me with saggy skin. That news cut me like a knife (no pun intended) but I did not want to have a huge ugly scar from side to side even if the results achieved would have been far better. One of the doctors flat out refused to give me a quote on liposuction, the other said that I was the patient and as long as I was aware of the likely outcome he would do as I wanted.

I didn't go with that doctor because I would have had to wait until April this year for the surgery and I didn't want to wait that long (I started these consultations early 2015) so I came across Dr Joseph Ajaka by reading reviews online. He seemed to be an excellent doctor as I read nothing but good reviews on him and the clinic. This sounds like I'm going to give him a bashing or something, no, I am happy with my results and as you may be able to see on my pictures, my lower tummy doesn't have saggy skin, it's not flat but it's far better from what it was and I would rather have that bump than saggy skin.

The procedure was painless, the recovery was virtually painless too (for me)

On the first day I was too much of a space cadet to remember anything. Because I still had painkillers in my system, I wasn't in pain. So I went to sleep pretty much at a reasonable hour (took 2 panadine fort beforehand thinking that the next morning I was going to be in agony) what it did is made me fall asleep in 3.5 seconds haha.

The next morning I woke up at about 6am (which is rare for me) but I was wide awake and I wanted to get up. My mum who was taking care of me was still sleeping so I left her be for a while. I felt like I had a big work out the day before but nothing I couldn't handle. I didn't take anything for the pain for the rest of my 6 weeks recovery.

When I went to the bathroom, I took my garment off (I can't remember why) but please note that the first time you take your CG off, have someone there or be ready to hold on to something because you feel so faint and everything goes white. I held on to the basin for dear life thinking I was dying or something, turn the tap on and started drinking water like it was going out of fashion. This helped a lot. The rest of the times I took my CG off, this did not happen.

I was really swollen, especially around the hips. But each day I was improving, little by little I could see the difference and the swelling going down on each passing day.

The first 5 days were unpleasant because of the drainage tube things they leave in. The smell of the stuff that drains out of you is horrid, they inject you with a solution to help break the fat. It looks like blood but it isn't although your brain doesn't comprehend that and you freak out anyway. It's uncomfortable and it hurts when you bend or sit as it digs into you. Once it comes out it's sooooooo good.

I was leaking for about 7-8 days (from the day of surgery) some people leak less. I had to buy adult diapers to use during that time. It was the sexiest I have ever felt in my life!

For the first week my mum did massages twice a day for me. The rest of the time I did them.

I went down one dress size.

I didn't have problems sleeping.

I'm glad I had the procedure done but I won't be doing another one again. It's very uncomfortable and lucky I had a month off or I wouldn't have recovered as well.

Any questions you have, I will be more than happy to answer them.

The truth is I didn't have much communication with Dr Ajaka. I spoke with him briefly right before the procedure when he came to mark me and after the procedure when he came to check on me. I can't really say what we spoke about because I don't remember, I was still coming out of my twilight sedation. To me Dr Ajaka seems a little cold but he did a good job (I think)
