Donut Breast Lift with Implants
WORTH IT$8,000
I am only 24 years old with no children, which was a concern of my doctor when I went for my consultation. I was always overweight as a child and especially while I went through puberty. Eventually I managed to lose the weight, but for the past 8 years, my weight has always fluctuated, and as a result, my breasts sagged and I was always incredibly self conscious about them. Once I explained my reasoning for wanting the augmentation, Dr Z agreed with my decision and we continued the consultation. I decided to go with the Sientra Smooth Round Moderate Plus silicone implants. I chose 350cc during my consultation, which ended up being 325cc in the left breast and 355cc in the right breast to correct my natural asymmetry. My surgery was scheduled for September 30, 2019. I was told to come in at noon. As someone who has high anxiety(and usually passes out) when it comes to medical procedures, needles, and IVs, the nurses were all absolutely fantastic and made me feel very comfortable and calm. The anesthesiologist came in and spoke with me, letting me know what all they were going to give me and assured me that the “cocktails” would relax me prior to entering the OR. Then Dr Z came in to examine me and mark his guidelines and also asked if I wanted to lessen the size of my areolas since my incisions were going to be completely around them for the donut lift, which I agreed to. A couple hours later, I woke up in the recovery room where they had pain medication and water and crackers waiting for me to subside any nausea I might feel due to the anesthesia. Once I was awake and completely responsive, the nurses helped me get dressed and went over the next week’s post op care with both me and my sister, who was there to escort me to and from surgery and to spend at least the first 24 hours post-op with me, as per the surgery centers requirements. I spent the next two weeks off work and the following six weeks “light duty.” During my follow ups, Dr Z lightened my restrictions and finally cleared me the week of thanksgiving to resume all normal activity as I felt comfortable.
I don’t remember feeling much intense pain other than the actual incisions. It was more discomfort and tightness than anything else. I’m currently three and a half months post op and the only issues I have now is slight pain on my scars when too much pressure is applied, which is to be expected. I’ve been officially released from the surgery centers care but they were very clear about coming back or getting in touch if I have any questions or problems even though I am moving out of the area in a couple months.
Overall it was an absolutely incredible experience and the ENTIRE staff, from the nurses to the patient counselors to my surgeon, at the Plastic Surgery Center or Hampton Roads in Newport News, VA definitely receive all of my praise. I am active duty military, so if anyone is wondering about the process I had to go through with my command to get approval for the surgery, feel free to send me a message and I will give you as much information as I can.
