Hey Real Self world!! So I'm about to cross over...
Hey Real Self world!! So I'm about to cross over to the flat side (or flat as I can get) in about 18 days courtesy of Dr. Luis Lima in the DR hunty and I'm hype and scared at the same time!! I'm a mother of 2, stand 5'2 tall and weigh 230lbs.
I chose Dr. Lima because the work I've seen looks soo good and natural, plus his assistant Janet is the bomb.com! She has all the patience in the world (cause I know she wanted to tell me to stop texting her line, lol) and she is so responsive. It was either right away or no more than an 1hr that went by before she responded back to me via WhatsApp text. I'm going for a tt and lipo to my back, arms and thighs. Ok so, I needs him to give me my whole life! I'll be staying 10 days at his assistant Janet's very own recovery house. No wound care supplies needed and you can get the lymphatic massages that you need done right there too. Ladies when you are contacting these doctors about pricing don't forget to ask the prices for insurance, post op meds, possible blood transfusions and also ask if they are affiliated with any particular recovery house.
Only a select few know what im about to do and all but 2 people who know are being supportive. But I've reached a point in my life where I can't worry about the opinions of others and want to do this for myself.
Well its getting late so I'll post another day.
Feel free to drop me a line! Goodnight :-)
Sooo much to do!!
2 weeks to the day that I leave!!!
Maybe I'm in denial about the fact that this is getting ready to happen. I've wanted this for so long!!
Some my family feels that this is an easy way out and that I should just exercise. The truth is that even at my lowest weight I still had these good ole rolls and muffin top of mine. So the only way to get them to go away is surgery.
I think I'll be in shock for a while but I'm looking forward to finally being comfortable in my skin! I know I'm beautiful either way but I really feel like this will give me the boost I want and need! As a mom and wife we tend to get lost in everything else but I'm ready to show them all a few things and they may not like it!! Starting with trying to finction without me for these upcoming 11 days....
I still need to buy some things...wife beaters, arnica cream, maxi pads and/or lipo board. I have pain meds and vitamins. Still need to get bloodwork done to check my hemoglobin and maybe some new dresses, slippers and pajamas. I don't want to take too much. I planned to just have a carry on and my purse so we'll see how that goes.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to take?
9 days until I go to the DR and 10 days until surgery. Still need to order my supplies (but they are sitting in Amazon's online cart) and get my hemo tested!
Since you asked so nicely!
Ok, so I've been asked to post pics.... I was going to wait to post before and after pics at the same time but I have faith in Dr. Lima and I want you all to see what he's workin with.... I'm 5'2 and weigh 230lbs. Now join me in the suspense, lol!! So here goes nothin ladies......no negativity please!
TT, BBL and Liposculture
Hey all!! Sorry I didn't realize that I didn't tell you all whay I am getting done. My quote is:
-$4300 for tt, bbl, liposculture of the full back, abdomen, flanks, waist, arms and thighs. (I plan on only getting fat transferred to my hips and no BBL)
-$400 for preop workup: cardiology testing, bloodwork and garmet
-$130 for antibiotics, pain killer, antiflamatory meds, iron, healing cream and bruise cream
-$150 for insurance
-$380 for blood transfusion
-$80/day for Janet's recovery house, includes airport transport, 3 meals, wifi ac, hospital bed, juice, fruit, wound care and assistance. I'm staying for 10 days.
-$20 per lymphatic massage. Was recommended to get 1 massage per day after surgery
I have been taking folic acid, iron, vitD, B12 and zinc.
Hope this helps Ladies ;-)
Hey ladies! Its getting so real.....4 days until surgery.
I got my hemoglobin tested and it was only 11.4 (I am anemic so that is actually good for me) but HONEY...when I tell you I was spazzin out, Janet calmed me right down and told me to go buy Geritol liquid so I've been taking that along with everything else so we'll see.
I feel excited for a new me, scared of possible complications and selfish for spending this money.
Don't get me wrong I'm going but when folks talk about the emotional roller-coaster you get on... geez!!
Prayers up please :)
On my way!
Waiting to board the plane :-)
I'm here in the DR!!
So I made it one step closer to the flat side. Janet's rh is beautiful, down to the woodworks and the people in it. She is a sweetheart and her family is soo welcoming, its crazy!! They fed me within 20 minutes of me arriving, lol. There is only one other girl here who leaves on Thurs and another person comes tomorrow. Janet told me my hemo levels were a go so all that's left is the cardio workup and Dr. Lima slicin and dicin!!
My next post will include pics of my results.....Good night ladies :)
:-) Made It To The Flat Side!!!
Hi Everyone!! I had surgery on Feb 22nd as planned with no complications. Haven't posted pics yet because I haven't taken any and I will write my review (good one) once the swelling goes down a bit :)
Hey ladies, I'm still very swollen and won't get my massage until tomorrow but when I sit down and lay down my stomach is soo flat!!
Surgery went well with no complications. I stayed the night at the clinic and came to the recovery house this morning around 8:30a. I am really not in any pain, just sore from the stiffness and swelling. Now this is my opinion but everyone is different so just prepare yourself for the worst.
I'm sleepy so will post tomorrow. Goodnight :-)
Hi ladies! I will post later tonight but wanted you all to see the progress so far since many of you have reached out.
I only had a tummy tuck and lipo to my inner thighs, back, sides and stomach.
I am still very swollen but I absolutely love my results.
Thank you all for your support!
Detaile Update ;-)
Ok, so here it goes!
Day 1: I arrived on Sunday 2/22, was met at the airport by the driver named Carlos (he was holding a sign up with my name on it). We went straight to the rh and I was given dinner. Met Janet who I love!! She drew my blood, sent it to the lab and texted me later on that my hemo was ok for surgery.
Day 2: Janet picked me ip to go to the clinic around 7:30a. Had my cardio workup (the ekg machine is old as hell, lol) and passed. Met Dr. Lima (pronounced "Lee-ma") who sized me up while Janet explained what I wanted. Met the anesthesiologist who asked my medical history and went up to prepare for surgery. Got changed, the nurse put the IV in and started me on normal saline. Janet came to take me to the surgery room and marked me up. I was in a twilight during the back lipo and was put to sleep when I was turnt over. The anesthesia was gooOk, so here it goes!
Day 1: I arrived on Sunday 2/22, was met at the airport by the driver named Carlos (he was holding a sign up with my name on it). We went straight to the rh and I was given dinner. Met Janet who I love (comes everyday after work to check on the girls at the rh)!! Met Anna who I love (she stays with the girls at the rh), Janet's mom (Momma), Janet's husband Eddie (who drives sometimes). She drew my blood, sent it to the lab and texted me later on that my hemo was ok for surgery.

Now! I'm a nurse so I am very observant. So let me just say that you really have to leave what you know about the American way at home or else you will go bat shit crazy. So pray and let it up to your higher power. The anesthesia was good. First they gave me a med through my IV to relax me then I was given general anesthesia through an epidural had me feeling like I was walking in a Spike Lee joint, light as a feather and floating. I woke up for a moment when they were putting my faja on then did not wake up until I was in the bed around 4p with my drain. I was groggy for a bit. I could not eat until the anesthesia wore off and I could move my legs which wasn't until around 11p. My vital signs were taken, I was given soup to eat (sent by the rh) a heparin shot and pain meds and went to sleep.
Now! I'm a nurse so I am very observant and am quick to assess a situation. So let me just say that you really have to leave what you know about the American way at home or else you will go bat shit crazy. So pray and leave it up to your higher power but if you have concerns such as the use of gloves or using rubbing alcohol then speak your mind! I highly recommend downloading Google Translator and the offline optio, it was my best friend you can talk to it to translate into Spanish or someone can talk to it in Spanish and translate it into English. Because people in the DR come in different shades they may think you already speak Spanish.
Day 3 (post-op day 1): Woke to getting my vital signs taken, foley taken out, IV pain med for my headache, ate some soup and Carlos picked me up around 8a to go to the rh. Got settled in my room and took a nap until lunch which was soup again. Dinner was around 6p, took my meds and laid down for the night.
One added expense you have to prepare for is the cost of meds and delivery to the rh. I paid pesos 3500 ($76 us) for heparin shots, anti-inflammatory med, bruise cream, wound healing cream, 10 days if oral antibiotic, intramuscular shot pain med, reflux med (omeprazole). Later I needed something for my migraine which was 300 pesos for 10 tabs.
Day 4 (post-op day 2): woke up for breakfast, got dressed for a 9a pick up for my first massage. Carli was my masseuse, she was very gental and I felt great afterwards. The massage also consists of being drained of fluid which is a needle in your lower back (I could not feel it hoing in) and the fluid and blood pours out. Some folks may get lightheaded from that because she kept asking if I was dizzy...which is understandable. My wound dressing was changed as well. Went back to the rh for lunch and took a nap until dinner. Chilled on the patio until I was ready to take it in for the night.
Day 5 (post-op day 3): was basically a repeat of day 4...
So far my experience has been great.
I still take my presurgery meds: iron with vit C, colace, zinc, folic acid and geritol liquid (has B vitamins and iron in it) AND the post-op meds: heparin shot, oral antibiotic and reflux med (omeprazole). I have not taken anything for pain or heasache since yesterday (post-op day 2)
This post is long enough so if I think of anything else then I will post again or feel free to ask questions.
Talk to ya later ladies :-)
The rh is not in a tourist area, its brick city baby!!! So you no need for anyone coming with you because they will be board with nowhere to go. The rh has 3 bedrooms. Girls either stay in 2 of them....one has 3 hospital beds and the other has 2 hospital beds.
There is air conditioning, wifi, 3 meals, only healthy snacks like fruit or yogurt (you could ask to be taken to the supermarket to pick up some snacks like oreos and cheetos), juice. They drink bottled water and water from a cooler.
Do not think about renting a car cause honey you will die!! They have no lights or speed limit you hear me....that's a negative!
The massages are given less than 5 minutes from here at Janet's house which has a full hair/nail salon attached to it and is busy everyday.
Hi!! Here is a pic from today right before my massage. When I tell yall I couldn't be happier! I have NEVER looked like this with my clothes off.
Please excuse me for not posting. Just been busy trying to get back into tge groove of my home life and work.
I still have my drain but its doing just around 100cc over 24 hours so it should be coming out this week coming. I still am swollen, no real pain just tightness in my abdomen, sides and lower back when I get swollen. Ive had to unclog my drain 2 times. You can see if it gets clogged plus you will frel the swelling gettong worse. I do get the shooting pains I'd heard about in areas that I had lipo, I believe its from my nerves trying to heal. I am to walk upright when I wake up since I sleep flat but after sitting for even an hour I'm back to being hunched over until I walk around for a bit. My husband hives me massages each night. He's good, I drain more afterwards, my skin is soft again too so I haven't gone to get a professional massage yet since I don't need the drainage aspect of the massage.
I have not taken anymore pics without clothes since the last one I posted but I will soon.
I apologize if I've missed anyone's questions but feel free to drop me a line!! Peace out :)
4wkso post op pic
This will be short because I am getting ready for work but I will post updates later.
This is the first picture I took without clothes on since my last one. Sorry for not having side pics, I still can't really twist to the side good to get a good picture yet. I am super swollen in this pic because it was taken when I got home from work and I sit most of the day. Swell hell is real chile! My legs are even so swollen that I bought my jeans a size up. No pain, just stiffness in my lower back and lower stomach area which will feel better once I get my 2nd garment taken in. I biuggt my 2ND garment off amazon, its a fajate d'prada 11052 size xl. This material is stiffer than the one given to me in the DR but the compression is great. I don't feel the shooting pains anymore. My husband took my drain out at 3 was post op and I didn't feel it because he distracted me by talking to me.
I feel great! No, infection or complications!! Only thing left to heal is the spot where my drain came out, the area needs to scab over but it's closed.
Well, I gotta go before I make myself late.
Have a good day ladies, stay blessed and be great :-)
Pic didn't upload before
I'm gonna try this again.
Just posting real quick since I was asked for a side view. In this pic I have my faja on and an ab board inside the garment so I'm actually a little flatter then it appears. I will try to get some good pics with my clothes off this weekend :)

Hi ladies!! It's so nice to get messages from you all with so much positivity, saying you appreciate my posts and I have given some of you encouragement to take this step for yourselves as well!! I know you all will be as satisfied as I am! Someone asked for new pics and to be honest I still don't have any side pics without my clothes on so don't be irked with me, lol. Every time I try to take a side pics it's awkward looking and crooked. Any who, I haven't weighed myself do I don't know my current weight. I am on the 3rd hook of my size L faja. I won't purchase a M because I don't think my thighs will fit so I will be taking my XL faja to be taken in to fit a 34 waist so I'm down from my last measurement of 39 in the waist :)
I'm at work but wanted to give you these pics I took. They were taken yesterday with no faja on. I'm still swollen...I'm 8wks post op.
Peace out ;)

Hi ladies.....here is a comparison pic with side views that really do no justice because I was twisted trying to take the pic....I still have a top roll but I'm still swollen and it's sooooo small compared to before that I'll take it any day, lol! Plus you don't see it under my bra strap.
So here it is ladies. Have a good night :)
