Post-op day 80
Well it's been 11 weeks since surgery. Every day seems to still be a struggle with knowing what to eat. I tend to consume around 700-900 calories a day, I'm still not consuming my daily amount of protein I should be. I started working out on a routine basis a little over a month ago I'm working out 5-6 times a week swimming in a lap pool for an hour has been my new found love. According to my Apple Watch I'm burning on average 650 calories. Which when you think of my calorie consumption in it seems like my net total calories in is only around 300-400. I feel good, I'm not feeling sluggish or tired but weight has been slow to drop off. As of today I'm 185 lbs which I know isn't a lot since surgery but I'm extremely happy with this and I know I've lost a lot of inches. WLS definitely is not easy, this is a life long journey of eating better, being active and learning to love the process!
Post-op day 30
So I'm officially 1 month out since surgery, I can honestly say this is an ongoing learning experience. I have had days where I want to fall back to old habits and eat foods I know I shouldn't have. I have to constantly remind myself to take small bites and chew my food thoroughly. I have to remember not to eat and drink at the same time and not to take big gulps of fluids. And I haven't been consistent getting in my daily vitamins. Getting enough protein in each day continues to be a struggle for me as well. I simply just don't like protein shakes, so I try to make up for it by eating eggs or chicken or turkey but then my tiny tummy reminds me that I can only consume about 2oz of eggs or meat and that doesn't give me no where near the protein amount I could get from a shake. Like I said it's a learning process. I am happy about the 16.6 pounds lost since surgery. I'm officially in wonderland but I honestly don't see a difference. I most definitely need to take pictures to compare before and after. I started working out anywhere from 30-45 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. Stair master or treadmill are my go-to equipment, but with so low calorie consumption I know I need to be mindful of how intense my workouts are, the last thing I want is to pass-out or become dehydrated. My daily calorie intake ranges anywhere from 400-700 calories a day. I know there's room for improvement with my nutrition but I also know slow and steady weight loss is best. WLS is definitely not the the easy way out! For now I'll continue to work on my nutrition, slowly improve on my cardio workouts, take pictures of my transformation and learn to enjoy the process!

Post-op day 10
I'm happy to share that the scale is moving in the right direction! I'm currently down 10.6 lbs since surgery! That's an average of a pound a day! I'm super excited about that but on another note it's been extremely hard for me to get in my daily protein requirement. I'm struggling big time in this area, I'm consuming around 300 calories or less a day. I've always been a picky eater, I'm very bad when it comes to food textures and taste. I know it's only been 10 days but my go to meal is chicken noodle soup (broth only). I tried a small bite size piece of Swiss cheese and OMG, I thought I was going to die. I immediately regretted having that one bite, the pain I felt in my tummy and the sense of fullness I had was enough for me to learn not to do that again and to stick to my phases of food and not rush into eating something I know I shouldn't be eating! The pain lasted for about 30-40 minutes, I couldn't eat, I couldn't drink, I couldn't burp or do anything to help relive the pressure, I just felt miserable! Finally I was able to make myself vomit, not much came back up but it was enough to help relieve the pain I was having. So lesson learned the hard way!
