Sx & Recovery House Review

So I'm 3 days post op, finally feeling more "alive" - can't believe I finally got this over with! Dr. Leon was caring and attentive. As busy as he seemed to be, he gave me time to address any concerns. He had suggested I do a mini tummy tuck as I have some loose skin by the abdomen (probably from weight yo-yoing so much) but since I haven't had kids yet the idea of getting cut was just too much for me. I told him I just wanted the lipo and he said that was fine, but he would take less fat out of my lower abdomen area out so that my skin didn't sag more. I really didn't "see" the sag in my skin but he's the surgeon so he must know what he's talking about lol. Anyway, once I got sedated, all I remember next is waking up back in the hospital recovery room full of wires all over me. One complaint I do have is that they have no call or panic button by the hospital bed. The only way to get the nurse's attention is through a phone on a table next to the hospital bed and it was definitely not at arm's length. I was so weak to move which made it nearly impossible for me to call for a nurse. At one point I felt I had disconnected some wire by moving my leg and panicked. Being by myself was enough of an ordeal on its own. I somehow managed to grab on to the hospital bed to get up, take my drains and IV stand with me, and whatever monitors were strapped to my ankles and make it to the phone to call for a nurse. The nurse panicked when she saw me standing said I wasn't supposed to be standing but HELLOOO how does one call for help then when you clearly make it so difficult to reach the phone? Very annoyed by that. Plastimedic needs to get it together.
Besides that everything went pretty smooth. I ended up choosing Yasmin Recovery House and let me tell you I feel like it's the best decision I ever made. Not only is she super attentive, the caretakers are amazing and make you feel like family. I have barely had a need to even press the call button for their help bc they check up on me so frequently. Fatima and Nori are the best I really don't know what I'd do without them. Being that I came alone, I have depended on them for a lot and they seem to love what they do. Very important for someone to love their work when caring for post op patients. I get fed good meals 3 times a day - no snacks but I brought my own. Cashews, protein bars, pretzel sticks, cereal bars etc. and some juices. It's a humble home so if you're looking for luxury this isn't it but the value is with the caretakers and Yasmin. I am staying in a private room, w my own bathroom and have no complaints here so far. Since airport transportation was included in my quote w Dr. Leon and also included w my Yasmin quote, Yasmin told me she would take me to my massage appointments instead since I was using the Dr's driver for the airport trips. So helpful! Otherwise, I'd be paying $10 each way for my appts. I cannot rave about her enough. Just make sure you're stocked with everything you need when you come. I'm glad I brought hand towels, soap, toothpaste ... all the little things that can be easily forgotten.
I'm still very swollen - but I do see an improvement already. I am absolutely loving the shape of my new booty! Move over, J.LO ... LOL! When I get the chance I will be taking pictures. So far, I like what I see. I know I'll love it even more when my swelling goes down. Patiently waiting :)))

Flying out tonight!!

Few updates: I fly out to DR tonight ... my sx date scheduled for this Friday. I decided to forego my plans to do my breast lift w/implants. I reviewed possibilities with other Drs but he is still my best option being that I felt comfortable with how easy he is to get a hold of. I follow Dr. Tania Medina on snapchat, her work is so on point! I know that she will be someone I can consider in the future when I finally decide to work on my breasts. Anyway, for now I will focus on just getting the Lipo/BBL and hopefully have an easy recovery. I started taking my iron pills on a daily basis in September (knowing I always struggle with anemia) and I'm happy to say I went to my Dr. here for blood work and my hemoglobin level came out at 13! God willing, I am ready for Friday. I'm all packed & ready to go! New year, new me!!! LOL I do plan to share before/after pictures but I'd rather share after the work has been completed. I'll keep you dolls updated.

Concerned w my choice now

I really liked how personable Dr Jose Leon seems to be but now I am having 2nd doubts because of his unstructured pricing. Everytime we talk he gives me different numbers and its always higher than when we previously spoke. I hope he is not getting greedy but it seems like it. He had originally quoted me through a phone call at 4500 (called me friend also told her same thing) for lipo bbl and breast lift w implants and I only had a formal writtwn quote from him with lipo & bbl only. Big mistake not to ask for an updated formal quote bc surprise surprise next time we spoke it automatically spiked up to 5500 and claims its bc the price of anesthesia and meds went up etc etc. While I can understand all of this, my belief is when you give someone a quote that has already paid the deposit you should honor it. Very concerned and hope I'm not hit with extra surprises . will have to look into other doctors if I feel more comfortable with their word and lose out on the $200 deposit I sent.
