Ok guys, just a quick update. As you know with all hair transplants, the hair that is transplanted falls out and then it grows back new. It’s just a waiting game a this moment. Had a plasma done a couple days ago. Cheers.
Update #1

This is the second transplant I’ve had done in the Dominican Republic. The first one was done with Alba Reyes. She performed FUE transplant on the frontal region of my scalp with 2300 grafts. She is located in Santo Domingo.
I found out about Dr. Alexandra Espinal through my aunt who is a fellow doctor at the generally known HOMS hospital in Santiago. I went in with the intention of getting a FUE procedure done again. However, after the consultation she explained to me why the FUT procedure would fit my needs. I was at an advanced stage of balding and a FUT procedure would yield the most of amount of grafts (3000 in my case) for my crown area.
I have no qualms about Dr. Alba Reyes, but I met with her really briefly before the surgery and one more time afterward. I told her I wanted a FUE procedure and never that was that. Till this day, I don’t know if she or her assistants performed the surgery. She has, without a doubt, the more popular brand of hair transplants in the Dominican Republic, but Dr. Alexandra Espinal is just as professional and will lay out your options in a more detailed manner.
Doctor Espinal made me feel very comfortable about the FUT procedure which I was skeptical about because I didn’t want a scar on my scalp, but I’m very happy with how quick and painless everything turned out to be. My procedure began at 8AM and I was out by 2PM all with local anesthesia. I received 2 follow up appointments with the doctor herself and am very satisfied with this surgery, having been through a painful FUE procedure once previously.
The FUE surgery I had done in Santo Domingo was grueling. They put my body to sleep and I remember waking up in the middle of the procedure a couple of times to scream because the anesthesia would wear off and it literally felt like people were carving the meat of my scalp. The staff was a little rude and I remember waking up, not knowing where I was, and not being helped outside of the building. It was strictly business.
If you come to the Dominican Republic for a hair transplant, get a consultation with Dr. Alexandra Espinal in Santiago before settling for one hair transplant procedure. Her business is about finding the best solution for your hair-loss problem. She is super friendly, funny, and professional. Also, she’s not as popular YET, so I would jump on this bandwagon before this gem becomes popular and starts charging premium prices. Also, I suggest contacting her about any prerequisites you would need (shampoos, vitamins) before being consulted for a hair transplant. I was able to get my hair transplant done almost immediately because I was taking vitamins, using a moisturizer, and overall had a healthy scalp. Good luck to you all.
I will try to update my progress on a monthly basis. Message me if you have any questions!
