Pre-Op and day of surgery combo post

So I had my preop on 23SEP21. I was scheduled for 9 o’clock in the morning but they were delayed by about an hour. I didn’t care though because I was just excited. They call you back, take your weight, go over medical history and size out faja. You also receive all of your instructions for day of surgery and day after surgery recovery as well as your prescriptions. No I was prescribed a particular prescription that I did not end up filling just because on many occasions they told me that the pain would not be necessary for that particular prescription. It’s of course an option and in my personal opinion I don’t think that the pain was that necessary to have to take it. I’ve just been treating myself with Tylenol and I’ve had no problems. They do also finish up any remaining balances on your preop day so be prepared to take care of that as well.

Now to the day of surgery. I was scheduled for 5 o’clock in the morning so I was the first surgery today. You are instructed to come with your gown, robe, compression socks and house shoes. I still brought my ID and compression boards because I wasn’t sure I I would need them. They didn’t end up using any of that stuff. They simply stuff my father with things to soak up all of the drainage that she’ll have for the first day. You have paperwork that you need to fill out and when you are completed they call you to the back just to do one final once over of what’s procedure you’re getting with what doctor and have you change into the surgery outfit. The IV is placed and after you changed the doctor comes in to go over what expectations either you have or they have for you. Then you’ll be taken to the surgery room where you’ll meet the anesthesiologist and review all of your medical history once more. The entire team was incredibly nice and they were extremely informative every step of the way. Now I’ve never had anesthesia before but it is very different than anything else. I just remember the IV getting warm and the oxygen mask tasting weird the next thing I know I’m waking up in the recovery. Now when you wake up you will be on your butt and they will instruct you to roll over and you will be very cold. It doesn’t matter how many blankets they give you you will be shaking from how cold you are. At that point you have to wait for your ride to show up and you’re on your way afterwards. I will be putting pictures up as soon as I am able to but I do have to give Mia Aesthetics, Dr. Sisto and all the staff there 10 out of 10 rating because throughout the whole process I never once was concerned with my safety.

Time has gotten away from me and I forgot to update about my consultation with Dr. Sisto in which I had 24AUG21. Booking the consultation was not difficult at all. Simply call the office or the main number for Mia and you'll be booked! I would recommend booking it a good amount of time before your surgery date because things to be booked out pretty far. Also, he only does his consultations on Tuesdays. Now, on the day of be prepared with questions because that will be the first thing he will ask you. I simply wanted a confirmation on what I assumed would be a resemblance of my results.( Like I said, I have been researching for years so I would like to think I understand what is possible and what is not) I did not bring any "wish pics" because I didn't think it would serve a productive purpose.**My opinion** I would much rather speak with the doctor and figure out what limits I would have for the realistic outcome for ME. I am a very "black and white" type of person. I try to be as direct as possible to avoid confusion and the games. I will say, after speaking directly to Dr. Sisto, if you do not like direct or prefer your information sugar-coated he is NOT the doctor for you. He is harsh but in the most productive of ways. He did not spin me a story of how snatched my waist would be or how dramatic my shape would be. He gave me realist expectations of what I could expect from the surgery. Apparently he has to advise every patient of his that he does not do free revisions due to any dimples that may form due to surgery or recovery. I thought that was interesting that he felt the need to disclose that but OK. He seems like a very passionate doctor who keeps his patients well-being first in line and refuses to sell you lies just to keep you happy.

**SIDE NOTE*** I will speak to how his office runs specifically; Do not think they will not cancel your surgery date if you do not meet surgery requirements. I was in the lobby waiting with a young lady who came for her pre-op. Once I finished my consultation and began walking towards the exit of the exam rooms, one of his office assistants approached him and informed him that the young ladies BMI was over by point 4. Just point 4. At this point I was basically out of the back area where the exam rooms were but you could see on his face that he was not looking forward to telling her that she couldn't clear for surgery. Please ladies!! I beg of you!!! Do not think you are above being canceled. I saw it with my own two eyes. They will absolutely do it.

I've officially been clear for surgery. I was able to find a MD that could clear my physical and medical history and I was also able to get blood work done. Like I said before, if your primary care physician takes a long time to get back to you, you need to start searching for someone to clear you immediately. If you live in the Chicagoland area, I highly recommend going to Physicians Immediate care for your medical clearance and history (N Elston Ave). If you need your lab work done, I would recommend going to LabCorp (On 163rd and Harlem). **Side note, if you do end up going to Physicians Immediate Care, make sure you call and verify that an MD is at that location. They have a lot of locations and not all of them have MD's on site.** Both of these companies were very efficient and professional in getting everything done that I needed. I personally do not have insurance but I don't think either one of these companies allow you to use Insurance to pay for the exams and lab work. With that being said, I only paid $75 for the physical at Physicians Immediate Care and about $240 for the blood work at LabCorp. I honestly thought it would be more money and I have mentally prepared myself to spend a lot seeing as I didn't have insurance but both of these were extremely cost-effective. I wanted to make sure that I provided the cost information because it was very difficult for me to get a straight answer on how much all of this would cost. I do understand that prices vary depending on the procedures but seeing as whoever is reading this would be doing the same procedure, I figured I would go ahead and provide this information. I did a lot of research and I couldn't find any information that gave me straight amounts on lab work or physicals so I hope that this helps everyone else. As this process continues, I'll make more updates. I just like to make updates while things are fresh in my mind. If there are any specific questions that you ladies have feel free to reach out and assuming I've already gone through that part of the process I have no problem providing the answer.
