post op appt

Today I went for my first post op appt and when I walked in Mrs. Terry said I looked good and was walking very well for being a week post op...that made me feel good. Dr.C checked my incision and my drain log, I was able to get it taken out today and I feel much better!! He removed a couple of stitches out of my bb but had to leave a couple in to heal more. I have to return to his office next Thursday for another follow up to check on swelling and the remaining stitches in my bb. I must say that I can't stay out of the mirror!! I've been in big oversized lounging clothes all week so to see myself in clothes that fit...OMG!!! Each day gets easier this was well worth the money, time waited, and pain!! Now if I can get this lower back pain from still not being able to stand completely upright over with and done I'll be good!!

Post sx

So I'm on day three post op and the soreness is getting better, but this burning sensation around my incision is really getting on my nerves. I've read and been told by my surgeon that this is normal and can continue for several weeks. My back hurts tremendously from having to hunch over when walking. I didn't think I would need a walker like some ladies suggested but trust it helps a lot!! I've had to force fluids and small light meals so I don't become dehydrated but i just really don't have an appetite. Everything is coming along, my post op appt is next Tuesday and hopefully I can get my drain out, it's not bad just annoying. Although I have a long way to go and a lot of swelling I'm pleased with my results!!

Count down!!

So I went to my pre-op appt Wednesday. I received all my pre/post op instructions, anti embolism stockings, and my rx for antibiotics/pain meds. Mrs. Donna was very informative about what to do and what to expect. After that I went to the lab to have a CBC and pregnancy test. I had been purchasing some of my items I may need post op, so I finished shopping for the rest of my items and went ahead and had my rx filled. I'm so excited, 11 days and counting!!
