HI BBL Beauties!!, I have been researching and looking to have this procedure done for over a year now and started my journey wanting to go to Dr. Mendieta since he was great and local in my area but was discouraged by his long wait time and ever rising prices. Then a new doctor (at the time) became popular here in Miami named Dr. Salama who had good work and even better pricing...But unfortunately I hesitated a few months too long and his popularity and wait times rivaled Mendieta.
So I decided to take a hiatus from my search to loose some weight and get my health in order first and now that I'm down a few pounds and time and finances permit, Ive decided to go out of the country to Dr. Yily to have my procedure done for three reasons. 1) The price is reasonable and I can pay cash with no need to finance, 2) My hubby needs dental work done and we found a great doctor there as well (Dr. Alonzo* sp) 3) No extravagant wait times of 6 months - never years from now
Im really nervous and anxious and plan on going mid-August to give myself time to plan and get things in order. To give a little information about myself Im 5'8 and my weight fluctuates between 190-200 pounds and im still loosing more weight before I leave to guarantee the best results.
Im planning on having a BBL with additional lipo to the inner thighs and upper arms... maybe chin but I feel with diet I can do that on my own and a breast lift (no-implant)
Can anyone refer me or if you have gone to Yily give me any words of advice or tips to the planning process. Im still awaiting my final quote and will update when I receive and my confirmed date, I'll be paying my deposit Friday if all goes well.

I have been communicating with Dr. Yily via the Whatsapp application and she answers questions but the language barrier is still a factor so I really need to call Yira (her assistant) so I can confirm everything.
Im rather disappointed because I also researched doctor Duran and spoke with her on FB and she was so pleasant and nice and almost won my heart until I noticed that she completely stop responding to me once I sent her my before pictures and after further research here on RealSelf, I heard that she doesnt like to work on women whose shape isnt already ideal... Im not quite ready to post my pictures on here but it does offend me to think a doctor would not want to work on me because of my size.
I send butt booty naked pictures so that she could see exactly what needed to be done, hopefully its not what I think, but hey Dr. Yily has been very responsive no matter how busy but like Duran no quote has been sent... SO for now im still patiently waiting...
My Fiance/Husband/Partner is getting his teeth done in DR so we are considering renting a condo so we (more so he...lol) can work while we are away because im staying the full 2 weeks and just hiring a nurse to for the first few days...
Im researching supplies and material and for all those who are looking to go living in or near S. Florida, Round-trip airfare is only $225 with luggage!! I want to book before it rises again but ill update with any additional information as soon as I can!
Got a Response!
After emailing and waiting 3 days that in my mind felt like 3 weeks, Dr. Yily responded to me with a quote (Im sure it was Yira), and for TT, BBL, Lipo, & BL she quoted me $5000. At first I didn't want a TT because I havent had kids yet but I lost a lot of weight and this hanging skin is no bueno! After doing a lot of research, although it is not suggested, with proper diet and working out you shouldn't have too much of a change post-pregnancy,
I look at it like this, I could get pregnant now and my skin would stretch even more and be worst or I can give myself a new canvas to enjoy life until I decide to have a child. Im still young so I have years to enjoy before a child.
On another note, does anyone know if she still excepts paypal for deposits?
Cabal July 2015
I'm back updating after a very long hiatus. Let me briefly catch you up. I have traveled to DR in the last year and due to unforseen circumstances was unable to have surgery. Now I'm back on track and in my excitement starting to blog again on the site that got me excited initially (realself)
I'm scheduled with Dr. Cabral for July and I'm already mentally prepared and on track health wise.
Debating between a TT or just liposuction as I don't yet have any kids but ugly unsightly stretch marks.
Honestly down time is a huge factor in my decision.
I'll be updating regularly so stay tuned.
Dr Velilla, Evolution Md booked for March 14th
So I'm finally taking the time to update. My surgery journey has been ongoing since 2013 but ill do a brief back track and the let you guys know what's going on. In 2013 I did indeed fly out to DR but due to personal and financial reasons I did not have surgery. I met worth Disla, Duran and another Cipla doctor and got quotes and was planning on returning soon.
3 years later Ive gotten multiple flights and multiple quotes from DR to Columbia. I have every supply needed and have every and no almost every trick for safe travel, raising your hemoglobin levels, pre and post op care etc.
Funny enough due to work responsibilities and many great things they have happened in the last year I won't be having surgery out of the country. 1. Because if I go to DR the recovery time needed would have me away from work and my income too long. 2. I'm not quite sure I'm ready to have a TT even thou I know many doctors agree I need one.
I'm only 24 with no kids, so I can only hope that my vigorous pre-op and post op regimen will aid in ideal, if not perfect results.
I'm going to Dr. Velilla here in South Florida. I'm having slim lipo and a Bbl with possible chin and arm lipo.
I love stats in reviews because it helps me mentally compare. So here goes:
5'7 196 lbs. I'll update with measurements soon.
My doctor is on IG @doctorlipo and I'll update in the next post what I've been doing to prep my body. Feel free to ask any questions. I work often but ill answer as soon as possible!!
Pre op preparation and my regimen
Joined a gym in November of last year (2015)
Ive gone once.... Really trying to be better about that but im a work in progress. So my pre op prep includes the start/continuation of my lifestyle change.
I work nights but I don't eat after 6pm. Anything.
I was on Phentermine but I don't take it daily like most people. Disclaimer "I am not a doctor and please only take medical advice from you personal physician"
I find that with Phen I plateau easily. Meaning it'll work for a few days and then my body ignores it. For me...again me.... I did taking a pill in the morning every 2 -3 mornings instead of daily, my body tapings better and during my off days my appetite is still somewhat curbed. Again i did this so that 1. I eventually can control my diet in my own without the aid of medication and 2. Because it simply worked for ME. Lol
I started my preop journey in December at 207. I'm now 196. Although I'm excited it is also a negative as because I'm opting to only have lipo it can lead to more loose skin prior to surgery.
I'll tell you how I combat that in my next update!
pre op continued
My diet consist of very limited to almost no carbs. I calorie count and have limited my beverages to water and tea occasionally.
So for those having or who will have surgery I cant stress how vital pre and post op care is.
Because I already know im at risk for possible loose skin I have been doing Cavitation and radio frequency treatments for the last 6 weeks. If not familiar with them please Google, but in summary cavitation helps to break up and damage interior fat cells that your body eliminates naturally when u use the restroom. Radio frequency tightens your skin and helps with overall elasticity. For best results most places recommend 12 sessions over 6 weeks. I however chose to purchase the technology after extensive research and administer them myself add I have experience doing this in a professional setting. But it's not really expensive and most cities, especially miami have it available on groupon for fairly cheap.
I couple the treatments, Cavitation 2-3 days and RF daily with waist training/ corsets.
Most of us will have to wear garments post op, this helps in my opinion shape me and prepare to live in my garment post op.
If you decide to try Cavitation, here are my tips.
1. Drink plenty water before each session and immediately after. It'll help flush u out.
2. Try and work out within an hour after. Personally I haven't yet but on my research it helps trick your body into thinking the fat was burned thru excercise. Hth
My review will have alot of helpful information that I've picked up over the years from bets who have had surgery. I'm not a vet so I'm clearly no expert. But someone advised me and I'm just sharing to help those who honestly want a new body but really don't know anything besides their desire for a change.
Things I wanna share...
Very limited people in my n life know im doing this and is hard because some of the closest to me aren't very supportive. You will also find people who will be supportive in theory originally but once it goes from a dream to a near reality they will begin to be negative or unhelpful.
Please remember this is about and for you. No one else can understand you better than u.
For ladies traveling for surgery whether in the states or abroad. Please be sure to make sure your health and hemo levels are in check as is one thing to be told no and another thing to be miles from home and turned away. Also the healthier you are the faster you'll heal.
I take the usual stuff I'm sure u read in most reviews folic acid, vitamin c, iron, blood builder etc. So I ain't bore u with that.
But the last thing I'll add before I run out of steam lol is try and either bring or simply arrange proper care for yourself post op. Research recovery homes, private nurses and caregivers before making a choice and try and establish a feel for them. Because immediately after surgery they are your lifeline.
Pre op treatment
Today was my first pre op hyperbaric oxygen treatment. My doctor didn't require it but in my experience dealing with patients and wound care and my research it helps with the healing process. It was really informative and awesome experience. Tomorrow is my pre op appt with Dr. Velilla. I'm excited but anxious with only 4 days left before surgery
Post op update (Surgery)
Sorry I've been MIA just been dealing with initial recovery and my own mental head space. So let's get started.
Day 1 was a blur. I arrived at 9 am, did brief pre op paperwork and was given my meds and laid down to wait my turn.
First of all, I made many mistakes.
Mistake #1: I didn't meet the doctor himself until moments before surgery. I attempted prior to surgery to meet him 4 separate occasions. That should have been a sign but That's my fault for paying any money without meeting my physician first. But you learn...
Surgery time! I'm normally pretty good with pain so I didn't think twice about local anesthesia. Also in my mind I presumed the anesthetic would remove feeling.....Lies!
I felt a great deal of pain and discomfort and it could simply be that the anesthesia wasn't right for me as I'd never had experience with it before.
Dr. Velilla doesn't have the best if any bedside manner. I read other reviews prior to surgery and im not the babying type but even I was taken aback by his lack of emotion and or care before, during or after.
I was moving during surgery, kinda squirming because of pain and discomfort. I remember him chastising me like an annoyed parent lol.
All I could do was try and "behave" in fear that he would just stop working on certain areas in annoyance...lol funny but not funny.
The last thing I remember was being put in my garment and needing to throw up. Tmi but want u guys to have the full feel.
Even as I was leaving the O.R. area sick as a puppy my last glimpse was of him looking at me and he gave me a quick grimace that I assumed was his attempt at a smile. Again he seemed nice enough but very down to business. That last moment was his opportunity to reassure me that everything was going to be ok and I looked great and blah blah that u tell a patient that just spent't 5 grand with you but feels like crap lol
Day 1 & 2 post op
So my love gets me home. Ladies we've only been dating 6 months so bless his heart for the amount of care he gave because I was a disgusting hot mess. Day 1 was my worst in terms of self care. He had to feed me, monitor me, and I was literally a baby.
The next day was better. He took me to my post op appt and I met with Dr Velilla he said he added the most fast my skin would allow but my skin was tight. Overall I never wanted a crazy big butt and im pleased with my new shape and hips even knowing im still having crazy inflammation.
I really shrunk significantly from day 1 post op to day 2. Honestly ladies inflammation and fluid are the devil. You will be swollen and continue to swell for weeks. Although I'm clearly healing well compared to others I've known. I'm just tired of swelling if im out of my garment longer than an hour. Please start your lymphatic massages right away.
Also alot my throwing up was my body getting the anesthesia out.
