Co2 Laser Resurfacing melted my face

ORIGINAL POST

Worst thing that has ever happened in my life....

facemelt
Worst thing that has ever happened in my life. This laser damaged my skin and has melted ALL of the fat off of my face. My skin feels like silly putty that can be stretched off my face. It has deflated and sags. My temples, cheeks, and eyes are hollow and my chin has gotten so much smaller from volume loss. The skin around my jawline sags into my neck and is not anchored to my face anymore. I have unnaturally aged. This was a total disaster.
Please ladies and men who are considering this, BEWARE. I am here to tell you there is a real risk, that the practioners will not disclose.
Not only does it ruin your appearance, the emotional and mental toll is even more destructive.
Don't let people tell you to avoid medspas to avoid complications. Mine was done by a licensed plastic surgeon who has an excellent reputation in the medical community.
If there is any one out there who has found a way to fix this mess, I would love to hear from you.
I know there are many women here who have experienced damage from these thermal devices.
Please people, DO NOT use thermal devices on your skin. Please research the dark side of these machines.

Hi I know what you are going through.I had laser and ipl exactly two years ago and things just keep getting worse,I have severe scarring, orange peel skin, the fat loss is the hardest to deal with as I am beginning to look like a skeleton,I can't even lie on my side as my skin folds like a concertina door.I also have burning flushing and a horrible stretching feeling when I change positions. It is a complete nightmare and I have had my life ruined, the worst part is when doctors say it is all in your mind.I hope your skin improves I hold on to the thought that a miracle might happen.good luck.

I am sorry this happened to you as well. Being dismissed by the doctors just adds to the devastation. The psychological damage is unrelenting. The sadness is with me every minute of the day for the last year. It is a life changer for sure. There are plastic surgeons who are very aware that this exists. I have spoken to some of them, yet the laser industry continues to destroy faces every day.

This recently happened to me, absolutely devastated and doctor is not even acknowledging even though the girl who did the laser fully did until the doctor spoke with her and now they have nothing to do with me. Can you please tell me which doctors you spoke with that are aware of the damage these lasers cause. I need help, the skin became so saggy it hangs over eyes and I’m unable to work and have been in bed for nine weeks. As I type this I have scotch tape holding my brow up. To say I’m devastated is an understatement.

I'm so sorry your experience was a bad one, ive been looking at all yhe reviews and it is hard finding ppl that had a co2 disaster, there are so many that had good results, I wish you the best.

I just posted my review on the co2.I had a similar experience. Did you report your issue with Medwatch and Maude? It's important everyone who has had this experience to report it.

have you went to another ps for their opinion? I am very sorry :/
February 22, 2017
I have seen 5 other PS's for opinion and fat transfer consultations. I am now considering having FT and possible face lift due to loss of elasticity around my jawline. Most admit other thermal devices can do this, but only 2 admit that co2 caused this. My before and after pics 4 months apart show undeniable volume loss

Hi I hope you are feeling ok!I am in the same boat as you my face continues to get worse, the fat loss is the worst as it holds everything up!Just when you think it can't get any worse it does.It is like watching a balloon deflate.Once again I send my best wishes.chris.

Ugh me too. Disaster. I don’t ever want another laser near my face and feel deep mistrust. Anyone know if there are natural remedies to get your skin back? Every dermatologist I see is convinced this is impossible and recommend treatments I just can’t go through.

I am sorry this happened to you. The manufacturers are well aware of what these thermal devices can do. I know a group of women who had a class action suit. They knew many other women who were suing also. There are many of us. It burns me up when they tell you it wasn’t from the laser.
My advice is to wait over a year to do anything to try and mitigate the damage. Things will keep changing until then. The best outcome is face lift. The most regret is fat transfer. In the mean time, stick with filler. It took me over two years to put most of it behind me.

Thank you. I appreciate the. advice so much.
