Very Disappointing Tummy Tuck Experience in Istanbul — Poor Results and Unprofessional Revision
Bright531271October 5, 2025
I had a tummy tuck with liposuction in Istanbul in May 2024, arranged through an all-inclusive medical package.
The experience was far below what was promised to me before the surgery.
Only about 2 liters of fat were removed, and my sides and upper abdomen were not treated at all, even though this was part of what I paid for.
Because of this, my stomach skin tightened unevenly, leaving me with large dog ears (folds of skin) and visible lumps and irregularities across the abdomen.
After months of messaging with the clinic’s coordinator, I was offered a revision surgery in March 2025.
When I arrived, the surgeon ([DR. NAME] at [CLINIC NAME]) told me he would only correct the dog ears and refused to redo the sides or upper abdomen.
That made the revision pointless — the main problem remained untouched, and new small dog ears later appeared near the lower back and hips.
After the revision, the clinic unexpectedly demanded €400 for the hotel, although I had been told everything was covered.
When I refused to pay, I was informed that their driver would not take me to the airport.
I spent the night anxious and in pain, not knowing if I would even make my flight.
Eventually, another person — not from the clinic — arrived, behaved rudely, and drove around the city for over an hour before taking me to the airport.
The hotel I was placed in had only three stars instead of the promised five, was about 40 km from the hospital, and my room was small and smelled bad.
Despite telling them I am lactose intolerant, I was given food and probiotics containing milk, which caused severe diarrhea and dehydration during recovery.
Now, after two surgeries, my abdomen is still uneven, with new folds and no waistline.
The results are far from what was promised, and I will likely need another surgery to correct the outcome.
I am sharing my experience so that others considering surgery abroad know what can happen when expectations and reality don’t match.
Please do very thorough research about your doctor, clinic, and the exact procedures before traveling for surgery.
