The bags under my eyes really stood out at me...
The bags under my eyes really stood out at me every time I looked in the mirror. I felt they made me look tired when I wasn't , and working in a salon didn't help being surrounded by lots of Mirrors and younger people.
No amount of make up or highlighter disguised the under eye bags and I was beginning to feel really self conscious.
I'm a very proactive person and I never let negative feelings sabotage me for very long and no matter what it is in life I just do something about it.
I knew exactly what to do and who to turn to though.
Mr James Murphy who had performed previous surgeries on me recommended Mr Goodwin.
I booked a consultation through Pam Barf , his lovely secretary ( who is always really helpful and efficient) and met with mr Goodwin himself at the beginning of March.
Mr Goodwin is a really friendly chap and put me at ease immediately with his caring manner and good sense of humour but took my worries and concerns very seriously.
He was also very honest as I had asked for a brow lift as well as my under eye but he recommended not to as I didn't need it. I thought this was very good advice as it was probably true and I was just being over critical about my whole upper facial area.
He explained to me in detail about the procedure (blepharoplasty) , the recovery and the result. Again,he was very honest and realistic and explained that I should be too. I think people think that surgeons can wave a magic wand but they can't. They can only work with what they have.
Needless to say , I went through the procedure which went very well, I was well looked after during my one night stay at the hospital and did everything required by mr Goodwin to aid a fast and as painless recovery as possible. Like using the frozen googles provided and not takin ibuprofen etc.
My right eye healed great , my left eye has taken longer. I'm only five weeks post surgery though and the bruising only lasted a couple of weeks. I suffered mostly with swelling but this is to be expected with such a delicate area. Gentle massage really helps to disperse the fluid build up and break down scarring which often occurs again because it's a delicate area.
I'm more than happy with the result.
I look refreshed, glowing and more importantly wide awake! So thank you Mr G . You did great !
I only have one big problem now.

Very happy so far and crepe skin left after swelling is starting to smooth out . Thank goodness!
