Diastasis Recti repair/Panniculectomy

1 week post-op

WORTH IT
It has been 1 week and each day gets a little easier. I’m still walking a little hunched over. I had a very nice shower last night. I’m still sitting in a shower chair. I’m afraid to stand for too long without support close by. I love how the diastasis recti repair made my muscles tighter and waist smaller. It is going to be so nice to fit better in my clothes and not worried about my belly or looking pregnant. I’m okay only taking strong pain medication at night before bed and some Tylenol or Ibuprofen during the day. My drains are on both hips and I notice some swelling in pubic area which hopefully will fade over time. I noticed from some other reviews that some drains are placed in pubic region which makes sense seeing that I have swelling in that area. Overall, I’m feeling much better today. Maybe even considering leaving the house today!

Post-op Day 3

It felt so good to take a shower today! I am also able to walk around better, but still hunched over. Muscles in the midline where the diastasis recti repair was done are very sore and tight. I’m afraid the laugh, cough or sneeze like the muscles cold pull apart again. Feeling pretty good though.

Before/after pics

I was more excited for diastasis repair than I was for the Panniculectomy because I am hoping it helps my back pain and takes away the bloating appearance. Not sure about this belly button placement though. Hoping it looks better with time and healing.
