Diastasis Recti Repair

40 year old.
Weight: 65kg (10 stone 2lb)
Height: 175cm (5f 7inches)
I have suffered from lower back ache since having kids. My oldest is 8 years my youngest is 6. It is progressively getting worse to the point where I hardly sleep. Changing position helps, but the broken sleep in killing me. I started hunching over when running and have generally stopped exercising as my posture is so bad. I had researched online about causes etc and stumbled on Diastasis Recti. I booked an appointment with Dr Marco Faria Correa in Singapore and discovered that I have a 3.5cm gap with an umbilical hernia. I can’t wait to have my core back!
Surgery is scheduled this week! I will keep you posted.

According to Dr Marco, I have great skin. I was really lucky to not get stretch marks whilst pregnant. It’s a family gene as my mum didn’t get any either. The photo’s are me at the end of the day. You can see the 3 month pregnancy bump look caused by the diastasis recti. I’m surprised by the side view as I always thought it stuck out more. The last photo is bending over.

Had my surgery and my lower back is killing me. I really was not prepared for this. I thought it would be my abs, scar, drains etc. I’m on as much medication as I’m allowed and it’s just aching. All I want to do is lift my knees up as I know this will help, but I have to stay flat. I’ve got a pillow under my lower back but this isn’t helping either. I have not moved since the op either. I have a catheter in . I also have leg massaging machine, massaging my legs which feels amazing, obvs to stop blood clots etc.

I am currently 3 days post op from my diastasis recti surgery without lipo. I had three hernias repaired too. I am in pain only when I laugh, sneeze or cough. I am still very swollen with a large binder around my abdomen. I have been icing my abdomen for four to five hours daily. I can’t lay down in my bed. Currently I am using my power lift recliner to sit, eat and sleep

It turns out I had two hernias repaired. I am still in hospital and am going to ask about using ice- it sounds wonderful. I’m dreading going home as I don’t have a recliner. I couldn’t find any rental places here in Singapore. So it’s going to be cushions and help for me. My back pain is less today. I coughed though...Ouch worse than child birth. Good luck in your recovery.
