27 Year Old Getting a New Chin!

ORIGINAL POST

I have been thinking about this for a long time....

I have been thinking about this for a long time. I'm finally building up the courage to just do it! I'm getting married in a year so I figured what better time. I am super nervous. I have a week off work and I'm hoping that is enough. He is doing it submental and said I'll need a medium. (I'm not sure if it's extended or not, I'll have to ask). I obviously am scared of looking masculine or the implant being too dramatic of a change but he said he uses sizers before putting in the final implant to see which one looks best. I'm also a little nervous because I feel like when I smile head on my chin looks more normal and pointy/long so I'm hoping it doesn't make my face look even more long. I feel like I am spending all my time obsessing over reviews and researching this lol so I'm ready for it to just be over.

I am also in the same boat with you and came across your page lol I'm scheduled to get a chin implant & buccal fat removal sept 13th. I was told I'm getting a medium & I took 10 days off & hoping that's enough time. Hoping no one will notice & that I'm ok to work. Hoping that my results look natural but still worth the money if that makes sense lol stay in touch & happy healing soon !!!!

It's getting so close! I'm really nervous. Yes my biggest concern is it being too big/boxy and not natural. In the before and afters of other chin implants my doctor has done, they all look natural so I'm hoping lol. I took a week off work and worried I'll still look swollen or be numb from the reviews I have read. Good luck to you, it will be here before you know it!! Definitely keep in touch :)

4 more days! I'd like to hear people's experiences with local anesthesia. That's what I'll be doing and I'm starting to freak out about it. He said I will get a Valium before but I still think I may panic lol

oh oh, me me!!! I had local and it WAS NO BIG DEAL. Seriously. It was actually really great! I liked being awake for it. I chatted with the surgeon the whole time and felt great, those drugs really work. Best of all I didn't have to worry about the after effects of anesthesia or worry about getting the work up beforehand (getting the EKG etc). I know it is freaky to think about!! But it was a great experience for me :)

That makes me feel so much better!! I'm just worried about when they make the pocket for the bone. My dr said that part could be a little painful..which probably means really painful for me because I'm a baby with pain lol! Thank you for easing my nerves :)

Nope! That part wasn't painful at all. I actually thought it was really cool that I could feel that haha. It didn't hurt, and the drugs make you feel happy and relaxed

My surgery is tomorrow!!! I'm a little nervous about the local anesthesia too, but I think the anti-anxiety before will help that a lot. I'm ready! How are you feeling about the big day?!

I wish mine was tomorrow so I could just get it over with!!! I'm nervous but also so ready to just be done with it. How are you feeling!? I will look for an update over the next couple days!

Soo it's done! It wasn't too bad, the shots didn't feel good at all though lol. There was one point I jumped bc I felt something but he just gave me another shot to numb me and it was good. The anxiety was worse than the actual physical procedure lol. My appointment was at 2:30 and it's 9pm now.. I'm a little sore. I'd say 3/10 pain so definitely tolerable. I just took a pain pill a while ago so that will probably help. I have to wear the bandage until next week when I go back.
