Beauty Is Pain

WORTH IT$1,700
Two months after my first successful Subcision + Filler treatment I opted for one Dermapen session just to smooth everything out.
Dr. used the 1.5 mm needle length on my forehead and 2 mm on my box-car and rolling scar-laden cheeks, pretty aggressively.
Even though numbing cream was used, it still felt like I was getting a full-faced tattoo.
It's only been 30 hours post-procedure and even though I look like a tomato I'm afraid to love the results because ...IT HURT. I'm supposed to do a series of these things?! More numbing cream please!
Will update as time progresses.

I am thinking to do an dermapen treatment...is it true that this causes wrinkles? How is it going to you? Thanks

no, never heard such thing..rather it produces collagen.

Dermapen is great but it should not be that painful. Check to see if your topical was strong enough and/or left on long enough.

Yes I agree, it felt like I was getting tattooed on my face !!! It was performed by a board certified dermatologist no less...moving on!

Wow! I’m thinking about doing another session also with the same provider. I think 2-3 more sessions with the same needle lengths will give me the desired look. Good luck !

Does dermapen cause small bumps on your face?

Stayed in for 3 days, no makeup, no sunscreen, nothing except constant application of the emulsion given to me for possible itchiness (there was none). Last night I washed my face in gentle circular motions that made most of the flaky skin come off easily..
So far, I LOVE the results. My right cheek that was repeatedly and aggressively passed over with the 2 mm responded quite nicely. The left cheek still has a lot of shedding to do.
Did not expect such smooth skin to appear in just 3 days with 1 aggressive treatment (NO PRP).

I can’t believe the amazing results after one use. You look great! May I ask how you were able to get rid of your acne? Did you take accutane? Great results!

Sorry I meant after one treatment. Not one use.

Thank you! Accutane helped but only took a month’s supply. I think the major help was alleviating stress, changing my nutrition/exercise, and drank lots of water. Good luck!

The first time I got it done it hurt sooooo bad!!! The second time they gave me Valium and gas and it barely hurt at all. I was in la-la-land. I didnt get the dermapen though. My microneeding was done was a handheld device that was connected to a machine at a plastic surgeons office. Much different that the dermapen or skinpen that esthetician’s use. Get the gas if you can, it really helps!!!

9 months post

Dermapen in conjunction with bi-monthly facials.....

angefeb
It's been 9 months since my first dermapen treatment, all over the face. Prior to this I've had 1 subcision/filler treatment performed and more recently, “BDR” Facials with my local esthetician. The facials have been improving my overall skin tone and clarity however, my acne scarring although improved is still very textured--especially in sunlight (see picture)...which is probably the reason why I dislike the summertime but I digress...
Well, I'm super excited because next week I'm undertaking my 2nd Dermapen treatment, focusing on the cheeks. I was very pleased with the first outcome. The doc passed over the right side of my face much more aggressively than the left, leaving the right side smoother. Since many months have passed, I can say that although I reveled in the "instant" results from subcision/filler I preferred a more cost and time-effective route.
The first time at the 2 mm. needle length was incredibly painful, which I suspect was due to the minimal time the numbing cream was allowed to set prior to starting the procedure.
This time around I've also arranged my calendar so I have nowhere to be except home for 5 days because the redness persisted for that long.
Will update once treatment is complete!
