Requested Conservative Approach, Received High-Volume Radiesse Treatment

I went in specifically requesting a conservative, buildable approach, with the plan to do less and reassess over time.

During the appointment, I felt encouraged to proceed with a higher-volume treatment in a single visit, including multiple syringes of Radiesse placed not only in the jawline but also in the cheeks. While I understand that some providers favor a more structural, longer-lasting approach, that wasn’t aligned with the softer, more incremental result I was looking for.

At just over five weeks out, I’m still in the integration phase and experiencing a level of fullness and tissue reactivity that doesn’t feel natural to me. After consulting another dermatologist, I was told that the volume used — particularly in the midface — was more aggressive than what is typically considered a conservative approach.

My takeaway is not that the product is inherently wrong, but that it’s important to ensure the treatment plan matches your goals. If you are looking for a subtle, gradual enhancement, I would recommend confirming that approach very clearly before proceeding.
