Disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Kotlus. In December 2019 I traveled to see Dr. Kotlus for tear trough filler because of all the reviews of how great he was at injecting the under eye area. Not only did I have a bad reaction to filler I also had an horrible experience with Dr. Kotlus. I was early to his practice waiting outside on a cold winter day while he was late.

Mind you I’m from out of town I should’ve been the late one. However, he scolded me for being early and had the nerve to say he didn’t know why I was on his schedule Ha! I felt rushed in and out of his practice and like my business was not needed. It still bothers me to this day of how I was treated from this person. Also the bad reaction I had to the filler is still an issue I have a lump under the skin that still has not subsided 1 year later.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm the practice manager and apologize that I wasn’t in the office to welcome you on that day in 2019 when you visited us from a distance. A few of our key team members were on holiday vacation between Christmas and New Years. However, there is no excuse for you to not feel appreciated and welcome as a new patient and we are truly sorry you felt that way.

I wish to describe our process in your situation, or for anyone coming to us from another state-- Dr. Kotlus offers a pre-visit screening consultation via videoconferencing before you decide to make the trip. After the consultation/procedure Dr. Kotlus is available by phone, email, and Skype for follow-up questions where he can offer recovery advice and suggestions. He also will offer follow-up appointments if you wish to travel for post-procedure care, or he can refer you to a specialist that is local to you. He frequently speaks with these referrals regarding the procedure that was performed.

Thank you for having chosen our practice. We remain available to assist you.

I had a prescreening with Dr. Kotlus and it did not change my experience with him. He was aware that I was coming to his practice from another city however that did not change my experience or the lack of aftercare. Again he treated me poorly and made me feel as if my business was not appreciated or needed rushed through my injections because he said he had plans with his kids. I wonder if that’s the reason I still have a lump on my orbital bone that I did not have prior to tear trough filler.

So please explain how a prescreening would’ve helped?

I use the same issue with an under eye filler I had to have the filler dissolved, I had it done 5 times and the 6th time they mixed the dissolver with saline and it finally removed the lump!!- please have someone try that on you..

I’m afraid of doing anything else to the area at this point I’m just going to leave it alone. Thanks for the advice though!

Don't be afraid trust me I was as well I had the dissolved injected 5 times until one of the girls at the office says that if you miss the saline with the dissolver it removes lumps because the skin needs hydration, I'm shocked that it actually removed it, you can go to a filler place doesn't have to be a surgeon's office, I went to one off Groupon, you just put the word filler in there and a bunch will come up, it's so worth a shot I was going to leave it like that as well but I read it could cause fibrosis, it's worth trying another place trust me, I was in your shoes, and by the way when they add saline to it, the shot didn't hurt at all
