3rd Dermabrasion/35% TCA
3rd Dermabrasion
I am a 34 year old very fair skinned, white female. I had my first dermabrasion done at age 19. At the time I had “moderate to mildly severe acne scarring”. Results were very impressive. I can’t remember the doctor who did that one, but it was someone in Cincinnati Ohio.
Second dermabrasion (along with 35% TCA chemical peel) was done 3 years ago at age 31 by Dr. Winslow in Carmel Indiana. Impressive results again. But still desired skin to be a bit smoother so I just went in for round 3, again with Dr. Winslow (her and her staff are amazing!).
So far, this time seems to be healing quicker than my previous two times. But I’ve been regularly consuming collagen powder for the past year and have upped my normal 20 grams a day to 60 since the procedure. (Not sure if that’s helping... just noting it on here.)
Dr. Winslow instructed to eat a bunch of fresh pineapple to help with healing, which I’ve been doing as well (last time I do not recall the pineapple, so maybe that’s helping speeding the healing this time around.)
Today is day 5 since procedure. The worst day was day 3, that was max pain and swelling. I’ve been doing vinegar soaks every 4ish hours since the day after the procedure. And replying aquaphor. I will post progress pictures below.
Progress Pictures
I’m trying to crop out enough of my face so I’m not recognizable so I apologize for not having better pictures. But the main area is my cheeks and chin. My forehead was done as well, but the doctor didn’t even really think I needed it. She actually threw that in there last minute since I asked about it as I was about to be put under. She originally was only going to do dermabrasion on cheeks and chin.

Day 6 post
Face swelling has gone down a lot, but still some swelling. No more pain but some itchiness still. Face is super red still but I know from having it done in the past that it will take months for that to fully go away.
