Vivace Ruined my Skin

$2,500
Vivace with stem cells was the biggest waste of money. I mostly did it to tighten the skin on my face, neck and decolette, and everything looks worse. I did two treatments a month apart and I honestly feel like it damaged my skin. It caused severe acne, so I now have scarring, and it just seemed to worsen the collagen all over. My neck and face look saggier and less plump, and I have MORE wrinkles than before. Has anyone else experienced this? I honesely feel like the machine damages your skin and want to know if there are more that feel this way.

Hi. I'm afraid I agree with you. Had a full face and neck Vivace, no PRP, four days ago. The technician, a woman around my age (early/mid fifties) said that she'd had it done, and she had fine, lovely skin. I numbed for over 30 minutes. It hurt like a so and so on my upper lip and parts of my neck. I had to work the following day, and she said that I would be fine, and to just wear sunscreen and skip the retinoids that evening, which I did.

I got home, and promptly saw that my cheeks were covered with welts with little red dots on them. Neck, too, paved up and down with a grid of tiny dots. Four days after the fact, and the dots have not faded. The welts are less prominent, but otherwise, I look like I have some kind of pox. My cheek and neck texture is really rough. I NEVER had more than a couple of pimples here and there as a kid. Now, I can empathize with folks with cystic acne and other very noticeable skin pathologies. I'm afraid that what has happened is that my own blood has sort of tattooed my skin--become trapped in it. I signed paperwork releasing the med spa from any liability. I paid over one thousand dollars, on credit, for this miserable shite. Though this procedure might ultimately succeed in making me work on deeper, more significant qualities--make me a nicer person, in short--taking my life has crossed my mind. I fear I am really, deeply, permanently screwed.
Jdix, I am sorry you also had a bad reaction. What you’re going through will get better. This is not something worth contemplating life over. Just give it some time to heal. Worst case scenario, you get a laser treatment or something to correct any damage. Your skin needs time to heal though. I just want the people who have had bad results to honestly report them, so that the truth is out there and the machine can be taken off the market if it needs to be.
Hg338 and Jdix - I am sorry to hear your experience. Now that it has been several weeks, I hope your skin has healed and improved. I had the vivace done 2 weeks ago and finally the scabs are all gone 2 days ago. I still have visible marks on the side of my mouth which seem to be fading (I hope!). I went to my provider today and she said it is healing from within and should be all disappeared in another few days. I hope she is right. On the positive side, I do think my skin feels firmer and pores are smaller (though I didn't really have big pores to begin). Good luck to both of you (and myself!) and I hope our skin all look better soon! If possible, please post an update and I'll do the same.
Can you please update?! What happened with the marks?
Can anyone please update. I’m African American and had my 5th Vivace procedure done 4 days ago. My skin looks absolutely horrible!!! The MA went much more aggressive this time )as I had complained about not seeing any results from my previous 4 procedures) I literally look like a burn victim right now and although I’m trying to stay positive, I’m really afraid that it was too aggressive and I’m gonna be left with permanent hyper pigmentation. Every thing I’ve ever read about this procedure has been positive! Nothing but folks having great results so I decided to click on the “ does not recommend “ to see if anyone has experienced anything negative. I am really scared and nervous right now. Please someone update!
I had my second treatment 18 days ago. My first treatment was mild and didn't hurt at all. My second treatment was more intense and it really hurt my forehead and upper lip. The cheeks and other fleshier parts didn't hurt badly but still more than the first time. I had PRP injections immediately afterwards. My face was bleeding and swollen, and my doctor asked if i had scabbed the first time. I had not. She said i might this time because it was deeper and more intense- but certainly not the deepest and MOST intense. When I got home and looked in the mirror, I had to laugh at all those reviews that said they went out that night or that there's NO down time. Are you serious? I had grid marks, countless scabs, puffiness, redness, oy! I would say I had a WEEK of down time. The first three days were the worst and scariest. But by the fourth day I could at least cover the scabs and redness with makeup and hope nobody looked too closely at my face. I would say I could finally go without makeup after 8 days but the texture of my once smooth skin now felt rough AND lumpy. Good thing nobody was touching my face! By two weeks, I started feeling like my face WAS actually looking younger - from far away. But I still had the little scabs and some remaining grid marks. Now at 18 days, I would say my face looks younger in a way that I can't quite describe. And the lumps and all scabs are gone. My pores are NOT smaller but somehow the face looks smoother. I started using a retinol product to take some of the rough and pigmented skin away. I'm hoping that with each week it WILL improve, like all the doctors are saying. BUT, I have to say I'm a little scared of what my THIRD treatment will be like. I will def tell my doctor and she can decide whether we keep the same intensity and depth or whether we go deeper and stronger...? I will keep you posted. I would say, based on my experience, that you DO have to give it a lot of time to heal. But for all those women who claim they were GLOWING the next day, that's either BS advertising, or women's skin really does vary a LOT! I'm Asian and I've never thought of my skin as being particularly sensitive. I mean, these women are saying their very first treatment was the deepest and most intense and it didn't hurt? AND they glowed?! Hmmm...
