I am very unhappy with my primary...

I am very unhappy with my primary rhinoplasty/septoplasty. I ended up with an elongated nose (ptosis of the tip), a pointy over-projected tip with a tip graft, difficulty breathing (I could breathe better before, especially out of my right nostril), and some other asymmetries on the bridge related to grafts and filler that was injected one month post op. I fell victim to marketing gimmicks i.e. "nose guy" and should have done more research on surgeons in the Denver area. The bedside manner was most disappointing. My concerns were always dismissed immediately and met with a defensiveness rather that seeking to understand. Nothing was explained i.e. I didn't even know grafts were used until I felt the tip graft poking out of my nose and asked about it. Quick fixes were offered to cover up irregularities even at 1 month post op when there was still significant swelling present in my nose (red flag). I always felt "rushed" and he spent maybe a total of 45 mins to one hour with me (not counting anesthesia obviously) from the time I planned my surgery to my last post op visit I actually liked my nose better when it was swollen because it appeared rounder versus how it looks now which is extra long, skinny, pointy, and over-projected. I've grown more self-conscious about it and would do anything to have my old nose back even with the small bump on the bridge. At least my normal nose was more feminine and proportional to my face. I should not have to point out to a board certified plastic surgeon that the proportions and aesthetics of my nose are now out of balance ...they are way off. If a board certified plastic surgeon can't see that or is "unwilling" to admit that.. then why would I continue to work with them? A revision surgery may be my last chance at an improved result and I've found a revision specialist in Englewood who has extensive experience doing reconstructive surgery of the face. I had a consultation recently and have a pre-op appt. in December to see how my nose has healed. I hope to have my revision surgery next March when I'm completely healed. His office was night and day difference from my experiences with Dr. Raval and his assistant. He was so informative and helped me understand what had been done and what I was seeing. I guess I'm lucky I have plenty of projection to work with versus the opposite problem of having too much taken out. I left feeling like there is hope to achieve a nose that is balanced with my face with feminine. I'm not expecting perfection, but what I have is just unacceptable. Do your research.
